Member Notification of New Threads

Hi, my group uses new threads to post new activities. Many members would like to get notified every time a new activity is posted. As far as I can tell members can only be notified if they subscribe to individual threads. That isn't helpful for our needs.

So, is there a way to opt in to get an email every time a new thread is started.

ALSO, we use the calendar for every activity so the email notification could be for every time a new event is added to the calendar.

Either way, Thread or Calendar Event, I'd like members to get a notification.

I would like to do a similar thing. Is there a way to send the entire members list a daily report of what has been posted to the forum that day? Would be like a daily newsletter being put out automatically.

I guess it would be similar to the daily email notification feature when you subscribe to a thread, but have it do it automatically for the entire forum and also where you do not have to subscribe. Do I make any sense?
