Hi guys we have just opened our new forum, www.lykkeliforum.co.uk (http://www.lykkeliforum.co.uk).
Would love some feedback on what needs changing/how we can improve the forum.
I am aware that there is an Internal Server Error when clicking some links and we are working on fixing this so apologies if you come across it.
Thank you!

I would like to change its color unless you are going to make a fashion forum
Also, improve on logo design, layouts and adding more interesting forums to your forum.
One thing very important for your website, you need to promote your forum to increase traffic and members.
Good luck!

I thought a black/grey theme was appropriate because it suits the artist and her current album. Any suggestions on how it should be changed?
I agree about adding more forums but because it's so new I figured less is more, at least to begin with. Having less empty forums looks better than having more. Atleast that's what I've learnt over the years. But again, any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Logos and graphics are certainly not my forte but I'll try and fix them up. Regarding graphics, what would you change/fix?
Thank you for your feedback.

With regards to promotion, other than using twitter and facebook I'm a little lost as to how to proceed. Any ideas as to how we can advertise the forum better?

Don't have time right now for a detailed look but, overall I like the look of it. Simple and clean.

Looks like the color has been fully removed from everywhere and the black background on the banner does not work. A new banner with color in it and a nice skin would help a lot and show more sections to guests. Most new members don't join a new forum if they first don't see enough sections

Better if you can promote on other forums with dofollow link in signature like my forum http://www.webmastersun.com allowing that.
A Showcase your website (http://www.webmastersun.com/forums/38-Showcase-Your-Website) section on my forum may be need for you to have more feedbacks improve your forum.
Good luck!

I have updated our forum banner, adds a tad bit of colour, let me know what you think.
Have added another section and made the misc forums visible but not accessible to guests.
Will try adding another style today but I was finding it tough finding any free vB4 styles that I liked. If anyone knows of any decent free skins do let me know.
Thank you for the your feedback so far!

The two sections that are private you need to let guests see the posts setting them private is just the same as before when they where hidden. Banner is better what colours are you looking for in a skin

I have made the Miscellaneous forums visible. I never like doing this on any forum but I suppose until there is more content and more active members it doesn't actually matter really.
Regarding the skin I am quite happy with the colours. I wanted a black/grey theme going on but since others have suggested I change it I will add another but also keep the current one so people can choose. I suppose something a bit brighter but I don't want too much colour... maybe black and red/pink... I honestly have no idea. The ones that I have seen so far don't really do much for me if I'm honest. I'd create my own but I am clueless when it comes to that kind of thing.

Yes, keep the one you have as default now, but as others will not have the same style as you best to install other ones even one you don't think are nice so download and install as many as you can then members can decide

Have added a new skin. Currently working on changing the default status icons but check it out, let me know what you think...
I've made it the default. Old one is Back2Basics.

You should consider making the introductions forum at the top of the page and visible to guests, new members like to see that they will be welcomed :)

Done.
We seem to be getting lots of hits but no-one is sticking around and registering. I know it's still early days but I'm impatient and just don't understand why people aren't joining.
If anyone owns a music-related forum and would like to affiliate please pm me. Thank you.

It takes time but making sections private does not help if you really want that section to be private then it would be best to just hide it from guests

Have hidden the misc general discussions forum from guests. On any forums I've made in the past I have never felt comfortable about having that forum visible to guests and searchable by spiders.
Thanks for the feedback guys. I really appreciate it.
