I have a public usergroup, I think by default it has to have a mod/admin accept each person trying to join that public usergroup, is there a way to have them auto accepted into the usergroup as a secondary usergroup?

Thanks for the info!

If you don't set up a moderator to approve them, then they are automatically approved.

Where would one set up a moderator to approve them? I just want to make sure I haven't done anything like that yet? I don't think I did, but I want to be sure?

After you set it as a publicly joinable group in the admincp, on the bottom of the usergroup manager page, it will be listed under the heading of "Public (Joinable) Custom Usergroups". Then you will have a dropdown next to it to be able to add Usergroup Leaders.

To test things like that, you need to have a testuser with standard permissions. Log in as that user, and you can just join that usergroup yourself and see how it works out.

I always like to have one browser (Chrome) logged in as an admin, and then another browser (Firefox) logged in as a regular user and that way I can see what is going on when the admin changes things. :)

My forums aren't live to the public yet, and don't want to registrar anyone just yet... trying to keep the other admins/mods that i know of users 2 3 4 ect.

maybe i am a bit OCD?

But thanks for the info.

A bit, maybe ;)

You really need a test user (or even more than one) to make sure you have permissons set correctly and get a feel for the user experience.

The userid is not important, you'll hardly ever see it on the forum, and most users don't even notice there is such a thing. If it is really that important to you, create a test user now, and rename them later for one of your mods, change the e-mail-adress and let the mod choose a new passoword via the forgot password functionality.
