Everything you need in vBulletin 4
Lets be honest. Not everyone wants to migrate their large forums over to vBulletin 5. There are too many uncertainties. Will my SEO ranking stay the same? Are the same plugins available. What about all my custom configurations and themes? Not only that, there is so many plugins in vBulletin 4 that allow me to virtually create anything at the moment, why does it make sense to move to vBulletin 5. And thus, this plugin was born, essentially creating a modern vBulletin 4 platform on top of the existing infrastructure.

Faster page loading for vBulletin 4
With a new vBulletin ?ForumHome? remastered, the pages render faster, and allow for a more pleasant browsing experience for everyone.

Ajax Loading for vBulletin 4
No more clicking to navigate to view more content. vBSocial Modern Forums loads new content on the fly without having to navigate across boards.

Drag and Drop Image Uploading for vBulletin 4
Easily drag multiple images onto our new editor so your users can add attachments faster, the modern way.

Better content sorting for vBulletin 4
Because the data is now sorted in a tabular format, you can sort all your threads by popularity, rating, views, activity and much more with a simple click.

Works with existing installations of vBulletin 4
It takes 2 minutes to install this plugin, and 2 minutes to quickly transform to your new modern forum. Not everyone wants to move to vBulletin 5.

More interactive and social
Content gets buried on your vBulletin 4 site. With the new system, there are many new ways of discovering new and old content.

Works perfectly with vBSocial Social Network/Notifications
Our plugin has been tested to work with our main plugin vBSocial Social Network.

Create Threads from anywhere!
You can now create threads from the forum home page, as well as the category pages. This allows for more content creation, as content is king.

Color coding of categories
Easily configure your forum categories to look a certain color. By default, we automatically color code them for you based on your themes colors.

The future of forums is here.

This is very interesting. A couple of questions:

- Does it include any of your other products (like the notifications)?
- Will existing mods like Dragonbyte mentions and notifications and stuff still work?
- More importantly - how does infinite scrolling affect page views, ad revenue, and SEO? Wouldn't that reduce page views and ad revenue?
- How does deployment per style work? You say it works for light and dark styles.
- Is there a way to keep the old system as default and run this as an option for selected users/admins to try it out?
- Does it have any enhanced social media integration?
- Are new replies AJAX like Facebook?

I'm sure more questions will occur, but it's interestin for sure!

1. It is tied together with all our VIP or single purchase. I can't discuss premium or pricing here.
2. Untested
3. It decreases "page clicks" when users need to find a new post, but increases activity as this makes it easier to find and navigate the site.
4. Its' different per style. Its' coded to work with stylevars, so it adapts to each and every style. At the moment, you can keep the default for guests, and modern forums for regular members. Also regular members can turn it off from usercp.
5. Our other stuff does this
6. We did not modify new replies. We added a new thread creator. Which can popup from forumhome/forum categories etc.

I am intrigued, for sure. It's such a big change, though, that I really feel I need to be able to control it by user group, starting with just the admins and then some select members before opening it to everyone.

This plugin is very new, and there is still alot insights to learn from it. We see it being useful for many sorts of different types of websites, that are focused on driving more activity, and visibility to all the content on their forums.

Yes, I understand your goal with it. As I mentioned, my concern is user reaction to big changes, and having the ability to test it with select user groups, and then roll it out more slowly would be very attractive.

Have you any stats to show that it does drive more activity? Are your own forums busier post-upgrade to this?

This looks very interesting.
I have a big problem on my forum with inexperienced users posting in the wrong category. I'd like to give this a try but I am pretty sure it would exacerbate that problem the way it is set up. Do you have any ideas for how I might try to prompt them to choose the right category when posting? Or, alternatively, can I disable the option to create a thread from anywhere?
Thanks for your time.

Guys, your mods ideas are very nice.

However, and this comes from a former subscriber to your services, i have yet to try a mod that works perfectly.

There are always issues with either stylesheets or coding in general with your mods.

For example, when i enable this specific mod, my forum stops loading and gives me a blank page.

PHP ERROR LOG OUTPUT:

Hey guys,
Any idea why after installation and setup, the main forum page looks great as expected but there is no Create a Thread button, anywhere. Not even on the separate category pages. The moderator options is there but the Create Thread is not. Disabled all plugins/products to test for any conflict but found nothing. It simply wasn't showing the Create Thread.

The only way I found to add a thread is Forum Tools-> but that really isn't a great method and hard to explain to new visitors and even existing members :) Had to disable the plugin at this point given the fact it is enabled by default once installed.

Be interested to see if anybody knows why this is or how to fix it. Thanks!

Check your Default theme out, and see if it appears. Could be a custom theme issue

SpikeSaunders

I'll try that out. I thought this wasn't theme specific, originally anyhow.
Problem is gotta wait until nobody is around before doing the switch since by default, the new look is present which if those buttons are gone, sorta breaks function :)

SpikeSaunders
07-23-2014, 10:43 AM
Yep still the same. No mods installed (well en-abled), no plugins outside the VB ones and even those have the blog and cms related disabled.

Not sure what's going on here but clearly if this is a 'sold' product as well, it must be working. Of course not going to buy it until shown it does, otherwise a waste, ya know...

I would also like to see a link/button to turn it on or off for the members, even if it takes them the user cp... I don't want to answer 500 questions on how to disable it.

Also, can category coloring be turn off so it's just a normal link?

I'll strip my forums of the mod completely and give it another go.
Barbaro, did you install the purchased one first, then test the Free? If so I'd wonder if something was there that is needed.
Wish others would chime in if it works for them or not. I don't mind buying it, but not until it's shown working first on my site heh. :)

Glad to see it works on your forum there. But yeah I am not going to pay to unlock a STANDARD VBulletin (or Forum anyhow) feature. Outside this one flub the mod is great and well worth it. However even the developers aren't even responding to this despite saying it would be fixed, so holding out very little hope.

Shame too because VBSocial put out some amazing modifications.

Marked Uninstalled at this point.

I have recorded all bugs. Please report any new ones before dev 2.0

-have ability to hide post thread button functionality from admincp.
-Button for members to ajax turn off Modern forums from front interface. By turning it off it switches plugin off for that individual user.
-Ability to control it by usergroup. Only certain usergroups can see it.
-Responsive mobile design : ipads, smaller desktop screens, iphone.
-create a new thread button added to every page of site or/and forum categorys

All sounds good/not sure anything else missing.

I was able to fix this on the Lite over course of an hour or so, so the Create Thread stuff works now. Seems you had portions there but not the full code. So added the button, put it to use and found the new thread form pop up in the bottom as it should but the redactor was missing the whole form part so all that was there is the title and category. Fixed that as well. Working good.

So will wait for the next patch/update :)

I have questions about this plugin:

- What if someone wants to get to the bottom of the page without letting Ajax loading new thread while you scroll down?

- Would it work with custom themes?

- Would there be compatibility issues with vbadvanced plugin being installed?

- Does this do theme modifications?

- Which locations does this work on? (i.e. showthread.php or forumhome.php)

Of course.

- Would there be compatibility issues with vbadvanced plugin being installed?
vBAdvanced is not part of the forum.php so should be fine. Haven't tested.

- Does this do theme modifications?
No this has auto template built into it. So when disabled plugin, all theme changes are disabled.

- Which locations does this work on? (i.e. showthread.php or forumhome.php)
forumhome and showthread.php

2.0 will be here soon. Stay tuned

This is a bit of a problem with Ajax livescroll like that. It is a game of clicking and perseverance once you hit the End button on the keyboard!

there probably is a way to stop it manually. Maybe a key stroke, but nothing comes to mind.

Is it safe to assume at this point that this project is dead?

I might use this in the future, but right now it seems like a bit to much for my forum. lol. Thank you though. I will tag for later use in the future though!

is there any way to set the # of threads to show up?

before the user will have to click a next button, for showing the other ones?

as how the posts work in a thread

Without reading this thread, I went to the main website and became a VIP member. However, it did worked on my latest version 4. But the custom avatar seems to be broken for the last reply column.

If the coder visit here or any senior member can help me find and fix it out, it would be helpful
