So I purchased a 4.1.1 template ( http://themeforest.net/item/ideal-a-vbulletin-4-suite-theme/575401 )
i
After setting up everything like a logo and text for the footer etc I decided to go back making new pages for my forum.
However when I add/change something in the Navigation Manager it didn't change on my website. I tried switching to the default theme delivered by vbulletin self and then the nav bar did change.
Is it true that Navigation Manager got added in 4.2 and some templates have problem with this? I tried resetting the navbar script in edit template. It indeed allowed the newly added tabs to show up, however the template got destroyed and everything got wider etc.
Anyone knows what lines to look for or sometihng like that to allow Navigation Manager in 4.1.1 templates?

Correct, the 4.1.1 style is not compatible with the Navigation Manager. There is a few changes to that template, as well as a additional one.
Best bet it to ask them to update the template for vB4.2

As they have other skins already updated to 4.2.2 I would ask them to update the one you got as it is close to a year for any updates to that skin

It indeed has been a year since the update, is writting/ adding a line to allow it that hard to pull off?

Hiring a person to do that if you don't know about programming vbulletin.

Yeah it may be hard for someone that does not know the exact coding of the style to do, as they (the developer) have changed things around in the templates, switching div,s from the header to the navbar, from the navbar to the footer etc, so it is best to get them to do it.

Here you go..
[How To] Upgrading your navbar in custom skin from 4.x to 4.2 (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=283477)
Always make a backup of your navbar before making any edits.

But that is only for a style that used the vBulletin standard way of coding, because these style developers move different stuff into and away from the navbar template?

Yeah you are right but most of the custom skins out there use the same standard code for navbar. They make edits on the additional.css.

True, maybe the OP can use that fix of yours, but hopefully the developer can update the style. :)

Yup.
Even his site his down for a while, so we can't expect the dev to update the skin.
