For vbulletin, the only way to become a member of a forum is to pretty much register for it. What i want to do is similar to what people with ipboard can do, which is create an application style system for my clan website so that instead of the new member having to physically create a topic, they simply fill out required information and submit their application (which automatically registers them) similar to this site: http://www.tacticalgaming.net/hq/index.php?app=core&module=global§ion=register
is it possible?

So each time a guest wants to create or reply to a thread he just need to introduce for example his name and a captcha?

what?
I run a gaming clan. When a new person wants to join, I want them to fill out an application (which also registers them), similar to the link I provided above. Is that possible for vbulletin or is that an ipboard only feature?

Yes, that's perfectly possible. It's called custom profile fields, and it's part of the core software. At least in vB4 - no idea about vB5, I won't touch that version with a stick.

Then you need to explain what exactly it is that you think profile fields cannot do.

OK, if you don't want to explain any further - not my problem really. I'm really not going to guess what it is you are missing.
