Only admins can see ips and with the forums that only have one admin no point in it.

Only users, with permissions to see ip addresses can see them. You could let the public go wild with ip's if you really wanted. I don't see the point in faking an ip address though. You'd be better off just not storing it.
Even still, since you're not doing anything to the apache logs, it;'d be pretty easy to find your ip that way, if an admin has ftp/cPanel access.

Looks like this will only hide the IP address of the userid #1, as it is pretty much this mod, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=304760 just turned into a product with a on off switch.

Which is fine as that was marked re-usable code, but I think a notice in the thread would have been nice, crediting the original author. :)

Sure is but see below.

Yeap :D.

So long as it's marked as re-usable code like you said it's fine. It's not required for them to give credit either, it is however the "norm" around here to do so otherwise we see posts like the above but then in the end after a few posts credit ends up being given because someone posted a link to the other ;).
I have however seen some mods marked as re-usable code but in the mod description stated "how" it could be re-used and included a link to a creative commons license with details so be sure to always read carefully before remaking anything into a product.
Good idea Thangvip9x making this into a product, not all members feel comfortable adding anything to their forum manually like plugins it just seems intimidating for some but this makes it easy .

I never said it was required, I said it would have been nice. :p

And yeah it is a good idea to turn it into a product, now it just need it to where you can set the admins IP's in a vB setting, so it will work for multiple users. :)

Ohh I know but usually when I reply even if I quote you I'm trying to be generic at best so everyone knows ;).
Ohh and one more thing I forgot to mention to everyone... this is now a product and is not marked as re-usabled code but since it came from someone else who marked it that way someone else could make this into a product as well. <-- They would catch some flak from most of us but since it's a very very basic product using the re-usable code it's not like you can modify it to be 100% different. So as we can see there are some exceptions depending on the scenario.
Edit: Ohh Ohh I just noticed that made me laugh!
