I am having serious issues with my hosting company email and gmail both not delivering my user registration emails and PM notice emails.
Anybody have any suggestions or good email services I may use?

Check if your mail server's ip is on a blacklist.
Yahoo (aka AT&T/Bellsouth) email bounces a lot, as does AOL, because they have over aggressive spam filters that penalize any emails that look similar.

no its not on any blacklist it seems my email providers spam filters are stopping my emails, not the users email.
I am wonder what service others are using, not so much ideas on what may or may not work with my services as I have spent hours attempting to resolve this issue with my providers and have gotten nowhere.

Are they bouncing or are they just not being sent out? If they are bouncing, then the bounce notice should tell you what the issue is. If they aren't being sent out, just admincp > Number of Queued E-Mails and make sure they aren't backed up.

so what do others do when all the activiation emails are bouncing back?
Why are they bouncing? Is it saying that the email address is invalid, or is it rejecting mail from your server?

How is it a vBulletin problem, how someone else's server is handling email that you send to it?

For some reason his server will not allow vbulletin Mailqueue System, it just stopped working and the host was no help in resolving the issue.
He switched to SMTP Email, using his gmail server as the SMTP Host.
I have never used SMTP Email for vbulletin so I am very little help in this area.

Quite simple. It's an issue you can't get around. You'll always have bouncing e-mails (for example: old users change their email and, of course, don't bother to change it on a forum they visited sometimes past. Then the thread gets new traffic, subscriptions go out. If that happens on a large scale, you get blacklisted easily.
A smart software would provide a possibility to take care of that, and this has been requested for years, especially by power users. But since its obviusly nothing one can market with, it never happened.
There is, however, an addon, around since vB3.6, but reportedly working with vB4 as well.

Well the OP did state that he is not on any blacklists.
There is this mod also, which will handle bounced emails, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=266142

Try using an @your site. Com as.the host instead of your gmail. I have seen many spam gmail accounts used that I do not allow gmail to be used during registration.

I am not sure how a mass mailer app would help activation emails from bouncing back.

HERE IS NETFIRMS RESPONSE! BASICALLY "TOUGH"
one of our system administrators checked the email logs and found that the emails from your domain ‘theoutdoortradingpost.com’ were filtered out by our spam scanning solution. You will not be able to send emails from your domain name using our SMTP servers for now as your domain reputation is low. The possible reasons for the low domain reputation are given below:
1. The contents and the subject line in your email was considered as spam by our filtering system.
2. Lot of recipients marked your email as spam in their email client.
3. There were multiple bounce backs due to bad recipient addresses when you sent an email to a list of addresses.
We have already submitted an email sample to the spam scanning solution to have it analyze your domain name and to consider its emails as genuine. Unfortunately, we cannot give you any guarantee that the domain will be white listed as the analysis is automated.
If the issue is not fixed after 48 hours, you will not be able to send any emails using our SMTP servers. If you are using an email client to send emails, you can use your ISP'S SMTP server. You will need to contact your ISP to get the SMTP details. This will not impact your email services with us in any way as you will continue to host it with us. If you need any additional help on configuring your email client, please let us know the email client you are using to send/receive emails.
If you have any further questions, please update the Support Console.
Sincerely,
Prithviraj K

I think the site you were once associated with may have something to do with your domain being added to a spam list.

You either have not read the description of the mod I linked you to, or you have not understood it.
Probably the first, since you claim to be the "Technical Specialist".

I read the part where it says it wont work on vb 4.2.2 and decided I didn't need to waste time reading further. I don't remember ever stating I was a "technical specialist" if I was I doubt I would be on a webforum asking for opinions from people offering worthless banter.

This is installed but it does nothing to help the outgoing emails that are stopped by my email server?
I would imagine someone else has had this issue.
