editing psd files?

I am far from being a graphics guy. Can someone tell me where or how to edit psd files? I have five i just need to take the stitches off of.

Google photoshop cs6...and download the demo should help for now....but if wanting something free....then I believe GIMP can also open psd's.

Gimp can ^ indeed however sometimes certain gradients and such do not carry over. In gimp you can also save as .psd files but their format of the same type is titled .xcf
