I'm considering buying Vbulletin forums 5 but have a few questions please;

1. Is V5 Connect responsive or do I have to purchase the Mobile suite package $399, what do you lose by not having the Mobile add on ?

2. Will I be able to paste the code into my Bravenet site and it work responsive within my responsive site (with or without Mobile app) ?

3. Will users be able to use the forums from in my website in Safari on their phones ? Or will I need the seperate app ?

:)

1. vB5 has a responsive style. If you choose to use vB4, it comes with a separate mobile style. Personally, I like these better than the mobile apps.

2. paste what code? In vB5, if you use a module to add content, the it should be responsive.

3. Using my iPod and Safari, I can see the vbulletin.com/forums just fine (they are running vB5).

Thank you Lynne, that's good news, so what is the benefit of buying the Mobile package with vB5 please ?

Also I've tried downloading the trial version (72 hour one) to my website before I buy and I don't know how to upload php file ...

Don't know what a 'module is to add content' that's why I asked for a 'code' like my old forum page. I'm finding it complicated and don't want to purchase until I know how to upload to my site and if it works. :)

Some people like having an app for their site. You can put ads in the app and you can charge users to download it, so some admins like that.

You cannot download a trial version, you can sign up for a demo, but there is nothing for you to download for the demo. When you try the vB5 demo, you can see what the "modules" are and see that you can add them to pages and put html or php code in them.

If I recall correctly when in responsive mode some of the moderator options aren't available in VB5 because of the smaller screen size so the Mobile Suite can provide moderating tools not available when using VB5 on mobile devices.

Asking here won't change anything.
