After i let someone have my name and password to log in and help with my site. Now when i go back to try and change my password back to what it was and i get "Sorry, this user is protected from being altered in the config.php file by the $config['SpecialUsers']['undeletableusers'] variable." and cannot switch. Also i noticed that all my registered users are moved to a group "new users" which i have never saw. Any info?

First off you can change your password in the front end in your usercp. What was it you had someone doing on your site, what were they fixing?
Check your logs and see what the person did while in the acp.

Give admin credentials carefully. You don't really know these people. Create NEW account and give it ONLY the admin privileges it needs to accomplish whatever task is needed by the third party person. Example would be, if it is template edits? Give only permission to administer styles. And so on.
DO NOT give anyone your super administrator credentials!
DO NOT give anyone FTP access!
Unless you really, really know the person!

Well the person pruned the logs so no telling what was done.
So we are waiting on a reply to see what they have to say, why they did what the did.

I should caveat my remarks to exclude vB dot org staffers and advisers. :D
We CAN trust those folks.

That is worrisome.

I doubt the person did anything malicious, but for some reason, it seems they wanted to cover their tracks.

This is all sorted, I think it was a communication breakdown somewhere. The person that was there to help, tried just that, and did not do anything other than prune the logs, as they do after every job they do for someone.
