Hi I am the web admin for the following site and am logged into the owner's account because of the license required. I don't work with RSS at all so I have no idea what I'm doing right or wrong for sure.

site: forums.abrahadabra.com

I'm trying to get RSS feeds working for the site, with podcast support, and I've made sure that the threads are viewable by guests. I am have a problem with it. When I activated it in the control panel under Settings--->Options--->External Data Provider I set it up with settings reading all YES and the default numbers in the fields.

I noted this caused little orange rss feed links to pop up next to the public forum links. When I try to plug in forums.abrahadabra.com to my feed reader, it says it's having trouble connecting to the site. (Feedly for Android)

When I click on those little orange RSS feed buttons they spit back the following information:

This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.
<rss xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:content="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/content/" version="2.0">

</rss>

I also tried to create a feed under admin panel RSS feeds--->Add New RSS feed. It won't take any sort of URL I could find suggested to me and keeps saying invalid URL

Yours truly,

The xml code is what is actually passed to the rss reader, so that is correct. Did you check your error_logs (if you don't know where they are, ask your host) to see if there is something in there regarding the feeds? It's hard to guess what is wrong when we can't actually try the feeds ourselves.

Alright, i did a search for forums.abrahadabra.com in Feedly, and it popped up with an available link. I clicked it and it said "Sorry" feedly has trouble connecting to this feed. This doesn't generate an error in the error log in Cpanel, although there are a dozen or so errors for other things from the past few days. Nothing today!

Um it's working now, the problem was I was using Chrome instead of a real browser like Firefox or Internet Explorer, which was causing the viewing error. I also changed one of the thresholds to a higher one, apparently it was causing a conflict.

Posting on a help forum somehow always helps me solve my own problems, so thanks.

XD

Sorry for the bother. now I will try to get these podcasts figured out which should be easy.
