What does 'Marking As Installed' do ?

* It helps you to stay on top of updates - members who have installed modifications will be notified whenever new updates are available.

* For security issues - vbulletin.org will contact all members who have installed a modification whenever a security issue is brought to their attention.

* Marking a modification as installed also helps me know how many people are using my work, giving me extra incentive to provide more features and new modifications.

I appreciate the support!

"Post Icons To Use
Default icon is the smiley face.
To chose a different icon, find out the icon number via the "Post Icon Manager" within the ACP"

What if want no icon?

I believe you can leave it blank. :)

Moderate your user you set up as a bot.:)

Or have the bot post the welcome thread in a hidden forum, then move the posts to the welcome forum, once you know the user is not a spammer. :)

So I did. And also tested this by registering a new account, and the thread was posted with no icon.

I really dig the amount of thought you put into this, all the different thread title/content options really makes this not look like a bot, and the ability to customize them is first rate!

Thanks, I was hoping by adding ten of each, it would be more random than the ones with four options. The random function (php) does not work so well, but this should help it.

I didn't realize there were randomization options from Admin CP. I didn't get that from the screenshots. I'll give it a try, because I'm not sure the one I'm using (it has four fields) is working.

Yeah I did not screenshot the title / message screen, it's to big to make it look right.

If you do use this, don't forget to mark as installed. :)

Oh, I always do. I'm just terribly literal about it. :D

I notice this has the same fields as the one I had installed. Except, the field for the poster's ID suggests that you can only input one user ID. Whereas in the old one you could comma separate a list of user IDs, just you can in both with the post icons. Is that possible in this one and it's just not described that way?

ATM it is one userid, I'll see about adding that before I release the next update, which should be before weeks end.

Would you happen to have the files, that came with the mod you were using? I am trying to troubleshoot a issue with it posting multiple threads for some users, that are occurring. I want to see if the other mod has some way of dealing with that.

PM sent. It's been a while, but I think we had a similar issue with that one, too. Don't remember how we dealt with it.

I really enjoy the welcome threads, but I'm quite surprised that there's no option for leaving the Posters ID blank will result in the newly registered account to make a thread instead, rather than specify which ID to use to make all the threads for them. Is there anyway I can do this?

ozzy47

So they would welcome them selves? Sounds more like you want a introduction thread, not a welcome thread.

Indeed ^^, but it's also a way for us to monitor members. Seeing most of the info is being posted in the postbit, it's easier for me. I'm afraid I don't see any introduction mods out there though.

I made a mistake however, this reply should be for the 4.x version, not 3.8. Anyway my suggestion can be done for me by any chance?
