So far this is working awesome it feels good to have my site open and secure for guests with out worrying about spam bots registering and posting, BUT!!!

There is a bot that registered back in May, and just posted in the Help Desk with all kinds of links, but it did go to moderate :)

But my question is what do I do with that post? and what do I do with that bots account?

also I have new members going to the Newbie usergroup, What can I do about the 15000 spam bots that did get through? is there any way to update every one that has under 10 posts to goto the Newbie usergroup? If im not mistaking that would stop their post from being Moderated and just not allow them to post with links and save me a lot of time (if im not mistaking that is)

Any feedback will be helpful thanks :)

Delete the account, or send to banned user group, up to you. I would get the IP address and ban that IP in your admincp, or deny in your htaccess... Do you have captcha enabled for registration?

Questions/Problems regarding modifications/styles need to be asked in the modification/style thread. That is where the support for modification/style is - not out here in the main forums. Please note that if a modification/style is unsupported (or even if it says it is supported), you may be on your own if you chose to install it.

Thanks but I am not looking at this as a problem with a modification that I need support with

I am looking at it as a discussion about a modification that many members are using so the support i am asking for is more one admin to another admin

So I didn't put it in the support for modification because its just more a what would you do question.

I didn't post it in Programming Discussions because its not a programming issue

And last I find it hard to believe I would be on my own with this since their are 1000's of admin's performing the same actions :)

Ok cool thanks, I was thinking the system would summit the IP to StopForumSpam and ban it automatically

You are still asking a question about a mod as per the forum rules this needs to be asked were the mod is posted

Ok then sorry if you would like you can merge this thread into that thread

Truth is I already posted in that thread and it was getting buried with other post just saying how much they liked the mod

and I don't like waiting for weeks to find some thing out I am more about action

So Yeah you can merge this thread thats fine

No I use Image Verification if that's what you speaking of the Human Verification I was using Random Question before I got the Spam O Matic working correctly but was having issues with that, I guess a lot of people don't understand capital sensitive, not sure
