This is just a small mod, that will allow you to show a Users Subscribed to a thread block, when viewing threads.
This mod may increase participation on your site, as users become more familiar with the subscriptions they can do. As it is now, most members probably don't realize they can subscribe to a thread.

It is a simple installation, just import the product XML, product-ozzmodz_subscribed_users

You can edit the options under the settings, OzzModz: Subscribed Users Block Settings

Complete Feature List


Option to disable the mod completely.
Option to choose one of four locations to display the block, 2 spots above the thread, and 2 spots below.
Option to show the block to the thread starter only.
Option to select which usergroups can not see the block. Note, if the users are in a additional usergroup, that is not allowed to see the block, they will not see it. I suggest only selecting banned groups, or guests.
Option to show a Subscribe/Unsubscribe Button In the block.
Option to show a View My Subscriptions Button In the block.
Option to show a Edit Subscription Folders Button In the block.

What does 'Marking As Installed' do ?

* It helps you to stay on top of updates - members who have installed modifications will be notified whenever new updates are available.

* For security issues - vbulletin.org will contact all members who have installed a modification whenever a security issue is brought to their attention.

* Marking a modification as installed also helps me know how many people are using my work, giving me extra incentive to provide more features and new modifications.

Just installed this but this part:
Add Subscribe/Unsubscribe Button To Block
By setting this to "Yes" you will add a button in the block.
It will show either a, Subscribe to this Thread button, if the user viewing is not subscribed,
or a Unsubscribe from this Thread button, if the user is subscribed.

Doesn't show.
The other 2 buttons do though.
Any ideas?

I've got to REALLY brag on Ozzy! He's an exceptionally decent guy and deserves major Kudos for being super helpful and instantly attentive to any issues (or screw-ups in my case) to anyone using his mods. He went above and beyond to help me last night when I made an install error, and while he was at it he resolved a totally unrelated issue on my site. Well I have yet to find a mod that adds a subscribe/unsubscribe button and one as well made as this, so I was wondering if it was possible to just use the mad as that instead of showing other members, but it starting to grow on me. :)

I am unable to replicate that, perhaps do a ctrl+f5 ans see what happens.

Great mod like alway's, but would it be possible that you can make it where they can only see their username and not everyone else's, but staff can still see all?

It may be possible, but that kinda defeats the purpose for which the mod was intended. This is to let the users know that members are subscribed, and bringing the subscription more into view, so it get's used more often.

There may be, not to sure. But that may be a bad idea, having members auto subscribe by email rather than opting in.

Add an extra button then which will not only Subscribe but automatically do the e mail.

If I understand correctly, though, implementation of this mod won't allow people to subscribe anonymously? In addition, all previous subscriptions that were made with anonymous intent are now broadcast? I realize that's fine for most threads on most forums, but there may be instances when people wish to subscribe anonymously. For example, I have a health forum. Folks may not be crazy that their surreptitious subscriptions for 'Natural Cures For Herpes' are now being made public.

If, in addition to the 'Usergroups Not Allowed To See The Block,' there was also an option of 'Usergroups Not Allowed To See Who Subscribed' then that could take care of the anonymity issue. In other words, I would like the ability to make invisible the "who subscribed" part of the block to certain usergroups - not just have the option to make the entire block invisible to certain usergroups.


I 2nd the idea an option for instant email notifications. The email notifications lead to greater and more immediate (read: relevant) participation among forum members. If it becomes bothersome for someone, they can edit their subscriptions later.


Is it possible to implement this mod in Groups? One of the biggest drawbacks of the Groups aspect in vBulletin is that the subscriptions to threads aren't automatic (even if someone has replied to a thread, they still have to subscribe manually. Couple this with the fact that recent Groups posts aren't displayed on the homepage the way recent forum posts are, and, voila, nobody uses Groups). Having the big ol' 'Subscribe' button that this mod provides would go a long way to remedy that.

Muahahha! So people actually asked about how to subscribe to certain threads just about 10 mins ago and I just installed this mod as well...lets see how it goes Ozzy...but knowing these guy's forum activity, this mod is certainly gonnah make a huge difference now !...another great mod I am sure !

The selection for display above thread tools does not seem to work for me on my custom theme but works fine on the default theme.

Is there any way to add this to the template manually or is there any other reason this one setting would not work with my custom theme? All the other settings work fine but this one setting fits best for me.

May have to vote for this one for motm! Very useful way to encourage more members to subscribe!

Set it back to that location, then in the template, SHOWTHREAD find this bit of code:

<div id="thread_controls" class="thread_controls toolsmenu">

Above it add:

{vb:raw show.ozzmodz_subscribed_users}

Then it should show up.

I got it now though I do not have that code in my template. My showthread is heavily modified but I got it just where I want it now.

Yeah that is probably why it won't show then, in order for it to be in that location, it looks for that specific code. But glad ya got it showing anyway. :)

okay , some links in my site will be empty page ( blank ) not all just some of them , once i disable it all work fine , there are no error or any things just empty wight page . in some thread , once i go to thead i see it total empty

when I choose show above the footer, the blocks shows up below the similar threads, but I want it to be above that block

any idea how?
