Might ask this in the thread where you downloaded that modification. Easier for us out here, to help you and I think it's a board rule too. :)
If it's the one I think it is, you have to "tell" it what all styles it goes on, in its option list in AdminCP. Also if it is the one I am thinking, a certain hook must be present in the style for it to work on that style.

1.) Rebuild the styles.
2.) If a child style template has already altered, then the modifications to the parent template will not propagate.
Now is a good time to backup!
Find out what templates are being modified by your 'mod' by looking at the 'productfile.xml' -- if the author does not list the templates modified. Using 'style Manager', check your child styles and if the template's name is in 'red', you will need to 'revert' it. (Note - You will loose any data that is already in the template, so make sure you have a backup of the style.)

I hope it helps :)

hello, thanks for your answer.
Its a sidebar developed by a vietnamn vbb modification. Cant find the website right now.It is the one I was thinking of. Anytime you download a Modification, the thread for it appears in your UserCP menu dropdown, under "Downloaded Modifications" so they are easy to find. Same is true when you mark them installed, dropdown has a "Installed Modifications" link as well.
Here's your Mod:
