I have a custom template, and the provider sent me the 4.2.2 version. However, I have altered the original template - added some artwork, graphics, etc. How do I install the new template? The author indicated that I should "merge" them in admincp, but not really sure how.
Basically do I upload the template upload file FTP to server, and overwrite existing (older) template files (which I am concerned may negate some of the mods and graphics changes, such as in the .css, etc) - or is this not an issue? Or do I basically upload the xml only? I'm not sure how to do this without screwing something up. Thanks....

I have warned you about this type of posts multiple times. You need to ask where you got the style from, how to upgrade it!
Questions/Problems regarding modifications/styles need to be asked in the modification/style thread. That is where the support for modification/style is - not out here in the main forums. Please note that if a modification/style is unsupported (or even if it says it is supported), you may be on your own if you chose to install it.

I did, but I don't really understand the instructions, and don't want to screw anything up. I was just hoping for some general info here on how others may have done it. Basically, do you overwrite or just upload xml. Thanks again.
Ok, will ask over on the other forum.

There is no telling on how the coder writes his styles, that is why you need to clarify any questions with him.

OK, I thought it was basically the same across the board. VB seems to be a lot different than phpbb - doing an upgrade on phpbb would actually check line by line and merge into old template, while keeping custom code lines, etc... and would actually let you know differences between the two before modifying... thanks again.
