If I bought vbulletin 5 but I downloaded and Installed vb 4.2.2 will I have the chance to update to vb 5 or 5.x later for free? regardless that I wont pay the monthly or yearly amount.

You buy the vB 5 licence, with that you can download any version from vB 3 to vB 4 to vB 5
Install which ever one you want.
At a later date, no time limit, you can upgrade to the latest version on vB 5 at no extra cost.
It's a lifetime licence for vB 5 so no other money to be paid.
Until they bring out vB 6.....
