We have been changing database passords, so various sites will have gone off for a few minutes.

Yup so far instead of taking it seriously all that hey have told us is to change our passwords.
What about the rest of the vBulletin sites out there? How do we protect ourselves from this exploit?

wayne has just closed the topic on vb.com http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forum/vbulletin-4/vbulletin-4-questions-problems-and-troubleshooting/4007535-0day-exploit-on-4-x-x-and-5-x-x saying that if we have deleted the install folder we should be safe but I am assuming the vb forum would have had that done when it was hacked.
