We have VB5 and it's terrible. What I would like to do is have a fresh install of vb4.3. We backed up the vb4.3 db before we upgraded to 5. If we use that db with vb4.3 files will it work?

No, the DB between vB4.x and vB5 are completely different.

If we use that db with vb4.3 files will it work?Are the two I have bolded one in the same? That is, the backup sql file of the 4.3 should indeed work with the 4.3 files. But the db of version 5 will not.

Yes, same.
I do not want the V5 DB at all. Is is just a matter of telling the config file the name of the DB?

yes, same location. we backed up everything before we changed to vb5.
