Hello,

I have recently moved my forum onto a new server, and since the move, multiple members (who registered before the move) have been complaining that they are no longer able to use the "New Posts" link in the navbar. This is not the case for all members, only a few, but when they click the link, they see the following message:

"Sorry, there are no new threads to view, you may search threads updated in the last 24 hours."

If this was occuring for all members, I would understand a little more, but the fact that it is only happening for a small majority of my members is completely mind boggling. This issue never occured before we moved servers, the rest of the forum is completely fine, just this one random issue.

I would greatly appreciate any help you guys could give me on the matter.

Maybe they are clicking it too soon after the first click?.

Hello WEBDosser,

It appears you may have misunderstood the issue here. When my members click the "New Posts" link in the navbar, it should display a list of all the new posts. But, for a few members (not all of them) it does not display a list, instead it displays the following message:

"Sorry, there are no new threads to view, you may search threads updated in the last 24 hours."

I need to understand why some of my members are not able to view the New Posts list. This issue did not happen before I moved hosts, and the issue only occurs for some members. It is nothing to do with the usergroups or permissions, because the users having the issues are in different usergroups, while other members in the same usergroups as them are not having the issues at all.

This is starting to really frustrate me, I have no idea what on earth could be causing such a bizarre issue.

AK, did you ever resolve this problem? Was it a Thread/Forum Read Marking Type setting?

I am having a problem with viewing New Posts too. So far, no one has complained, but I'm sure they will because I just started having the problem myself. But instead of getting the message you get (which is the normal message when there are no new posts to read), I am getting "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms." Odd - this is the message you get when using the search feature, not when using New Posts.

Do you know you are posting in a vBulletin4 forum. Your site says v3.8.6. :)

Yes it does, but I figured this is one of those issues that might have a common solution.

Thanks.
