I'm running vb 4.1.9
And I'm upgrading to 4.2.2

Do I need to upload *ALL* of the files to the my web server ?
I wouldn't think so, since that would overwrite... well... ALL of files.

I see the upgrade.php script, and I've seen webinars that show running that.

But ...
b) which vb4.2.2 files do I need to upload (assuming not ALL of them)?
a) where do I need to put my vb4.2.2 files ?
c) And - how does the upgrade script know where to pull them from

Probably a basic question, but I don't see a simple answer to this.
THANKS !

You need to upload all files first removing the config.php.new file. If you want help with this pm me with your skype name

Exactly. So what?

Wherever you have your forum running. You overwrite the old files.

It does not "pull" any files. It upgrades the database, not the files.

It is simple. You're making it more complicated than it is.

BTW: There's a readme file in the package you downloaded. It explains the upgrade process just as well as the user's manual (https://www.vbulletin.com/docs/).

It is good practice to upgrade a test installation first, and don't forget to delete your install folder after upgrading.
