My forum is extremely slow and I have done everything I can to speed it up from the ACP. Is there a mod out there for 4.2.1 to speed it up?

Pretty hard for a MOD to optimize a site. There are mods that will help speed up individual problems. You should have your setup reviewed over at vBulletin.com. I am not sure of the process, but I am sure someone here will jump in and tell you how it works. You can always ask over at vbulletin.com.

There are things like Dragonbyte vbOptimize to optimize queries, but the core of your optimization should either be at your server level or your page setups in vbulletin. By turning on debug mode in vbulletin you can find a ton of data on your queries, processing time and page speed. Any good browser in debug mode can also show you your page timing and waterfall, size of HTML, CSS and java script per page.

If you have more questions ask, and I will point you in the right direction.

There is also this article you can follow, Step by Step guide to speed up your VB4 OR VB3 (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=267588)

Main issue seems to be your host, providing TERRIBLE first byte time.

Helpful test site here, the test is one I just ran on you.

http://www.webpagetest.org/result/131004_F7_VNJ/

With only 22 requests the page should load very rapidly, but your host server stalls 7 seconds before first byte.

No Mod, or optimization, or anything else you can do will fix this. It's the host. Get them on the horn and show them this test. If they won't fix this, dump them and get a real host.

I will be changing hosts then. Thank you :)
