[SIZE=2]Another mod brought to you by,
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2015/01/1.png
This is a cool little addon that will add some good search links in the navbar for you and your members to use.
This can be really useful to you as a admin, and to your mods, to see if there is any unanswered threads on your site that need attention.
Note: As of now this is only compatible with vB version 4.2.0 and above (which has the Navigation Manager). If there is enough requests for it, I will see about making it compatible with all v4.x
It is a simple installation, just import the product XML, product-ozzy_extended_search Or if you want the links to show up on the Forum Tab, and the What's New Tab, import the product XML, product-ozzy_extended_search_2
You can edit the options under the settings, [B]Ozzy: Extended Search Links Settings
Possible links to show your members
Link that searches for all their threads.
Link that searches for all their posts.
Link that searches for all their threads, in a forum, if they are in that forum.

Link to search for unanswered threads since yesterday.

What does 'Marking As Installed' do ?
* It helps you to stay on top of updates - members who have installed modifications will be notified whenever new updates are available.
* For security issues - vbulletin.org will contact all members who have installed a modification whenever a security issue is brought to their attention.
* Marking a modification as installed also helps me know how many people are using my work, giving me extra incentive to provide more features and new modifications.
I appreciate the support!

That fixed the links "View my threads" and "View my posts" but when I click them now it comes up with this.
Please add more constraints to your search. Searches that return all or most of the database are a bad idea.

09-17-2013, 01:32 AM
Hmmm, I don't get that on my dev board, can you try from your profile page, clicking on the Find latest posts and Find latest started threads links, as it uses the same type of links.
fleshy66

Yeah thats the first thing I did. Works fine from the profile.

Hmmm, ok can you go to the Navigation Manager, click on the Forum Tab, scroll down till you see, View My Threads (Link) edit that, and then in the field, Target URL, change what is there to this:
search.php?{session.sessionurl}do=finduser&userid= {session.userid}&starteronly=1&contenttype=vBForum _ThreadThen see if you get the same results.

hi, can you add a option for exclude some forums ? because i use a rss forum (and this section is only read)and all topics are listed (+2000!)
And members do not have the permission to see some forums will not see certain topics? Because I see that you can select groups, this replaces the forum permissions or groups?
thx

Hi Ozzy, thanks for your reply, I just wondered if it would it be possible for the 'my search links' link to also show on the 'whats new' page?, the reason I ask is when you select from the drop down menu it will take you to the 'whats new' page with your selection however you then have to go back to the home page to select another option from that menu

Try this XML.
That should also add the links to the what's new page.
EDIT: added the XML to the first post.

But yes, it is very much appreciated by many.
Especially to those that dont patronise overly copyrighted corporate modifications, like me.

I know some people don't like, copyrighted corporate modifications, that is why I am releasing smaller mods under my own name, rather than under DBTech, I still release stuff there, just more involved mods. :)

Everything works fine besides the option "view my threads this forum only".
It shows "no matches" even when I had tons of threads/postings in that particular forum.
What could be wrong?

Hi Chris, thanks for this mod, works very well, and very happy with it. Just wanted to know if there was someway you would be able to duplicate the drop down menu on another navbar tab. Basically i have put it under the Activity Stream Navbar, and would like to put it on my Forum tab as well.
I see on page 2 of this thread, Post 25 and 26 you were able to duplicate it in whats new page. Thought that mught work for me so uninstalled and went for the newer xml file, unfortunately this still did not help. Any suggestion would be appreciated

Actually download the product-ozzy_extended_search_2 XML, from the first post, and it will show in both the What's New Tab, and the Forum Tab..

Something doesn't seem to be jiving for my links --
Here's my settings versus what's actually showing up. I confirmed that it's really doing a search for Unanswered threads, not unread - thought maybe it was just a phrase mismatch. For the permissions section above the screenshot, I have all of the usergroups checked except for Unregistered / Not Logged In, Users Awaiting Email Validation, and my Banned user group.

Agreed! Does the job and fulfills it's purpose. Splendid!
And the chap is available and helpful in many areas. Qualitaire! Not sure if that is a word but it does allow me the space to sound posh. Possibly educated? :D

Love it!
I have a forum with welcome posts for each new user.
They all show up with no reply.
Is there any way to exclude forums from the listings?
ozzy47
03-19-2014, 10:53 AM
You could edit the links in the Navigation Manager and add, &exclude=X,Y,Z onto the end of the url.
Where X,Y,Z are the ID's of the forums you want to exclude. :)

Great mod!... working well in 4.2.2.
Is there a tweak to show the My Posts in a thread list format. I had that from an old mod but can't find it anymore. I've tried messing around with the content= and showposts= but nothing seems to work.
Basically, if you go to advanced search and try to search for your posts but show them as threads - that's what I'd like.
Thanks!

Not exactly sure what you mean, can you post a screenshot.
Sure, if you go to the single content search and look for one user then show the results as threads:
The result show the most recent threads that you participated in - basically, 'my replies' in a thread list. I had this before but can't find where I found it and had to revert the navbar for 4.2.2 so I lost it.

Is there any chance that "Excluded Forums" could be added to this mod? I am using your Welcome Thread mod for new members and when I use this mod, all the new member threads show up if there are no replies. An option to exclude forums would help a lot.
