Hey guys,

I am not able to get my email send out when a user registers. "Verify Email address in Registration" I've set to yes.

So what I tried is going under Maintenance > Diagnostics > Email. And I actually did recieve an email.

So after that I tried to enable "Enable '-f' Parameter" and that also didn't work, but I did recieve a message on the administrator mail.

Reporting-MTA: dns; n1nlhg03125.shr.prod.ams1.secureserver.net
Received-From-MTA: DNS; localhost
Arrival-Date: Sat, 24 Aug 2013 06:26:43 -0700

Final-Recipient: RFC822; xxx@gmail.com
Action: failed
Status: 5.0.0
Remote-MTA: DNS; relay-hosting.secureserver.net
Diagnostic-Code: SMTP; 554 mail server permanently rejected message (#5.3.0)
Last-Attempt-Date: Sat, 24 Aug 2013 06:26:44 -0700

Anybody has an idea on how to figure this out since I really need this feature in order to prevent those constant spambots from signing up at my forum.

Regards,

E-Mail Send Delay = None
The only thing I see but this should not cause a problem. Have you got in touch with your host about this yet

I'm not an expert on email issues, but it seems like "554 mail server permanently rejected message" might be saying that gmail has blocked email from your server.

Well its really wierd a friend of mine tried it and he did actually get the email and he also uses a gmail account. Then 2 hours later another friend of mine registered and he didn't get the mail.
I will set the send delay to none. And I guess I will give the GoDaddy support a shot.

If anybody still has an idea please let me know!

Try the smpt option with godaddy if you have it

Alright after contacting GoDaddy they tested the PHP script. There is nothing wrong with that. So they told me it had to be an issue in vBulletin.

Anybody an idea based on this information and the information above?

You need to view your email log, which would be /var/log/maillog or mail.log depending on the OS, not all Panels have it in a the same location.

Cpanel = /var/log/exim_mainlog
Plesk = /usr/local/psa/var/log/maillog

You should tail your mail log when sending out the test from the admincp diagnostics page, this will give you the exact message & why it failed.
