Random doubleposting problem

Hello, I need a push in the right direction here.

Some time ago (2-3 weeks?) our forum has started experiencing a problem where it randomly (I haven't found a pattern yet) doubles someones post when they reply.

I have no idea what was changed, or who the blundering idiot was who caused this to happen, but it happens very frequently, and I have no idea where to start diagnosing the problem.

Just a bit of past experience from just me as a user and forums operator and host...

Poor server performance from host can cause it... Also a lot of extra Java scripts can cause it even certain ad scripts... I used to double post to an older forums because I was using some Antivirus with a Firewall I had the setting set way to high and it was messing with my browser...

This is just a thought, i havent tried it myself.

Has anyone had any luck with stopping the double posting in Version 4.2.2 ?

Either the host or your own internet is lagging that causes double posting. I have never had a problem with this on any vb version I have put up or even any forums I have posted on.

The only way we were able to stop the double posting was to disable the QUICK REPLY . Since then, we have not had double posting.

Nonsense. This addon has nothing to do whatsoever with the problem of the OP.

Most likely either an addon or vB itself throws an error when making the AJAX call to save the post (had that happen to me once, too). Try disabling all addons via config.php and test again.

That is not going to help, that mod is if a user actually makes two different posts, the issue the OP is having is when a user makes a post, it is made twice, the same exact post, it is a issue with Ajax, or a server bog down issue.
