Hello there, I will be posting two threads for separate requests for a couple of things I am looking to do on my new forum that hasn't officially launched yet.
Back about 10 years ago, I had a pet forum and I remember we had a large list of really cute user titles. With all the work I have been putting into my forum the last two weeks, my brain is fried!
But I NEED cool/cute user titles. Can some of you please share yours; UNLESS they are specific to a particular type of forum... for example: Gaming titles will do me no good. I just need general that would work for any type of person.
Also, I have never dealt with user ranks. Does anyone have some neat sets of awards that may coincide with user titles or amounts of posts that they would be willing to share??
If you want to take a look and see what my home forum page looks like: www.nomusclesnolimits.com (http://www.nomusclesnolimits.com)
All of my requests I posted today are for a GOOD CAUSE... this forum is for all people living with a neuromuscular disease ... to hopefully one day be a HUGE resource for people living with these diseases (ALS - Aka: Lou Gherigs, all forms of Muscular Dystrophies - Duchenne, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, etc.)
So any help would be appreciated greatly!

Have you checked out the Rank Sets forum? https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=214

Yes, and I plan on utilizing some of those rank sets for staff and such, but what I am looking for in particular I want to use my User Rank option within the forum cpanel, because I want to give ribbons or trophies (something like that) to be given to members that hit certain landmarks or achievements.
I found a few hacks that will do this it seems, but do not know which will give me the best customization for handing out these things, and also can't find any graphics here that look like cool ribbons or trophies, or awards period.

Cool, is it easy to install? Do I just upload it as a plug-in?? I have done that once with something else so far. LOL, but it had a little clearer instructions on how to do it.

Basically upload the files to the server, then import the product XML.

Oh! Also, does this come with trophies or awards built in to it? Or do I have to continue trying to find graphics to use?

IIRC it comes with some basic ones.

Ugh! Blonde moment, duh! -- Well I am going to go try installing it.

So I tried installing it... it said some file was missing and to go back? /home3/nomuscle/public_html/dbtech/vbactivity/includes/class_install.php appears to be missing!
When I installed it, I installed as a new product, and clicked on the main folder which took me to other files and folders, none of the FILES were xml. the two folders were uploads and xml. Clicked on the XML folder and it took me to two folders: vb3 and vb4. I chose vb4 because that is what I am running. That then took me to ONE xml file. That is what I tried to install.

Just tried the xml file under vb3 folder, gave me the same message.

It appears as if you have uploaded the files incorrectly. Please drag and drop the contents of the upload folder (use Ctrl+A to select all files) to your public_html folder. :)

oh I have to do it through my web server first?
ozzy47

Correct, load the files, then import the product XML in the vB4 folder

Ummm I think I need FTP to do that... I do not know how to use FTP, I have never been able to figure it out for some reason or another. I can do other stuff that's probably way more complicated, but cannot do that.

You can also load the files through your cPanel

Well I would do that, but it won't let me upload a whole folder at once, and there are way too many files... I assume I would need to create folders for them, and then upload the files within those folders accordingly?

I am not sure, how did you load the files when you installed the vBulletin software?

Heh! I didn't! I paid for installation!

Ahhh, that makes sense. You can go to the developers website, they offer a paid instillation for any of their mods, http://www.dragonbyte-tech.com/vbecommerce.php?productid=88&do=product
That is the link for the activity mod.
