I recently paid BirdOPrey5 to write a couple of mods so here's sharing the result of his good work on the first...

hugh_'s Threadbit Ad Locations

This mod gives you the use of three new ad locations in Forumdisplay and Search Results (aka New Posts or Today's Posts).

Why use this mod?

Help drive more revenue to forum owners. vBulletin's ad location selection is pretty limited...

Demo:

Forum display: Chat (https://www.partyvibe.com/forums/chat/)
Search results: Forum (https://www.partyvibe.com/forums/)

Available options include:

- Three ad locations in Forum Display.
- Choose the number of threads or search results after which to show the ad.
- Hide the ad from chosen usergroups.
- Show the ad in chosen styles.
- Exclude ad by forum and sub-forum.
- Display the ad in the Search Results.
- Disable by style

This looks awesome. Thank you so much for sharing! One question please. What would the style ID be? Where to find that? And if I leave that field empty would it show in all styles?

EDIT: Never mind, thank you, I figured it out! Works perfectly!

There are other ways but I generally do

Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Hover your cursor over a style to show it's ID...

Added a version number and product id so the version checking and Admin CP links to this page now work correctly.

For me on 4.2.0 dont work, I recheck all options, and dont work in my local site of pre-production also.

But is a very nice mod! Nominated

Have you tried in the default style? Also try disabling all other mods...

For the mod to work the last two lines of the treadbit template (and search_threadbit) MUST be:


</div>
</li>


EXACTLY.

That is a </div> followed by END OF LINE followed by </li>.

If the format is anything different it won't work.

The default style and most custom styles should work, but if you're not sure try fixing the threadbit template as I said.

Note- the few characters before the </div> (the indentation) doesn't matter.
