Here goes.
I have just moved the forum to a VPS with 123-reg and now i have a problem with attachments that have been posted on the forums.
Things such as a zip file for someone to download does not open the "save as" dialogue anymore. It simply takes me to a page with "clear.gif" in the middle of it.

Am i missing something, where i need to rebuild a table or something like, as i am usually quite clued up with VB, and this one has stumped me.

In the attachment manager i have Mime type set as Content-type: application/zip

Could there be anything in the php.ini that could be causing this problem i wonder?

Would transfering to the file system help?

help is urgently appreciated.

Are your attachments in the file system or database? and is this problem with all attachments or only recently attached items (since the move)?

Hi Lynne.
Images etc, seem to be ok. It is zip, rar (downloadable) files that seem to be a problem.
They are in the database at the moment, and it is with attachments posted before, and indeed after the move. This is why i am a little confused, as i posted in the forum to test it, and even now (after the move) with freshly uploaded stuff, its still the same.
Very strange indeed?
Heeeelp! :D

If it is only with those two types of files, then I am guessing it's a server issue. Have you asked your host about it?

Hosts dont seem to be able to help, and another thing i have noticed is that the download manager on my Joomla front end is downloading and serving the "save as" dialogue just fine.

Im wondering whether it could be that the files have gone for some reason during the server move.
Im just re uploading the attachment folder now. There is nothing else that i can think of.

What do you mean you are reuploading the attachment folder? You said attachments are being served from the database, so what attachment folder are you talking about?

Sorry, i am a numpty. They are in the filesystem. I have just upped my limits in PHP for timeout, and now new attachments are working, although anything in posts before the move are still a no no.

Do you have the correct path in Attachments > Attachment Storage Type (it should be a FULL path)? And did you recursively chmod that directory to 777?
