All of a sudden, for no particular reason, I am receiving new user notifications under the email address of the "super admin" instead of the listed email that was being used for years. There have been no email changes. I checked everything and can't tell why this is happening all of a sudden.

You would need to provide more detail, the emails that are being used & a header from each one.
The first thing that pops into mind is that its being forwarded to your email.

The emails themselves are normal "new user" notification emails and they are being received by the correct email address.
However, the "sender" address being used by vbulletin is all of a sudden the "super admin" instead of the email address listed in the settings, which is the same email address being used for years.

You didn't really provide more details, nor did you provide the header information from the emails like Anthony asked for.

Snake, I'm not sure what you mean. The email address set up under Vbulletin is boxingscene@gmail.com (as the email used for outgoing email from the forum). Instead, boxingscene1@aol.com (super admin's email) is all of sudden being listed as the outgoing email address and no changes have been made on our end in vbulletin.

Yes, details like those help, what the emails are & whats going on in detail, we cant help without details.
I assume you have no hacks installed that relate to emails?
Did you change the way emails are sent out, smtp?

Yes. Yesterday I saw it was set as the other email address, so I changed it to boxingscene@gmail.com last night, but all of the emails continue to come in under the other email address.

Did you clear out your email queue on the server?
Are you queue emails via vbulletin as well & croning them?
I would also restart the mail server after the flush of hte queue to verify.

I think they are sent our automatically when I put the request in vbulletin. I just had the mail servers restarted after clearing out the email queue and for some reason it still sent the test email as coming from the super admin's account.

I just used another browser to create a test account, just to see how it was sent, and the notification was received instantly as well.
Let me try your test.

The issue appears to be fixed, but I actually have all of the hacks turned on. What I did is save the settings several more times. I have multiple webservers maybe one of them has the other email address cached in or something like that.
I just registered a new account and the email notification was sent correctly. Thanks for all of your help!

I'm not positive on all of the server specs, but I have seen an "nginx" page come up a while back when there was an error.

Well, as long as thats the case and you want to avoid things like this when running a frontend proxy, as long as the servers are nic to nic or on a fast gigabit switch, i would do a NFS share, im guessing now your rsyncing or something, which is going to create issues in some cases.

Certain files and certain folders are copied from server A to servers B & C

That will create a issue if its slow or not syncing correctly, you need to find out how your system runs.
Setting up the NFS is easy, as i said, they need to be nic to nic or on a fast gigabit connection.
