how to change the new post/no new post icons?

i dont understand how vb5 has the "sprite icon" files with all the icons on one file...

how can u change the icons? i dont see how vbull can even read them off a file all crammed together like that, but im hoping to do some light design work if possible...

I think in near future they will have sprite icon editor. I saw it somewhere in JIRA tracker.
