When I reach the skill level necessary to support others that would use my styles, I will.

I could dress up a pig real pretty, but I couldn't tell ya the first thing about it's anatomy.

Maybe it's just a Southern thing but I take a little pride in my work, good or bad.

Nice!

I would make the border go down the page all the way instead of stopping like that. (y-repeat). And, I'm not sure about the animated stars to show the current tab - it's a bit distracting. Otherwise, I like what you've done!

Thanks Lynne,
I removed the stars and made the page background fixed.

Nice board, I like the style as well. I really like the colors you have chosen.

Side Note: I may have to join up. I am from/in Kentucky as well :)

Nice looking forum. I like also the name of your theme.

My critique is all about branding.

Your style is nice enough. It's a bit dark and a bit bland for my liking though. Perhaps taking the navy blue and pairing it with a more softer shade of blue would give the feel of "Kentucky bluegrass" or some such. Most importantly though - I note your forum has the lovely domain "LivingInKentucky.com" --- However, there's nothing about the website style that overtly or otherwise says anything "Kentucky"

I'm also not really understanding the film-related images you have in the header and the background. I do not see how these images helps promote "Kentucky" -- it's quite odd really.

My suggestion: If you want to capture your Kentucky audience - I'd suggest you rebrand your forum - at minimal making your logo and forum index icons related to the subject matter ;)

A design concept such as...

...but more sophisticated styling and obviously related to Kentucky ... would do wonders for your niche.

HTH,

J.

I just build styles for fun. But, I want what I build to be nice. I have my main default style (Maximusss) that I purchased and everything else is just for my enjoyment.

Oh I understand, as my own personal sites I've styled myself, for fun mostly, something to keep myself occupied. But I want for guests to appreciate as well...

So I thought I'd just point out a few tips that I think will make your style much more professional looking and might get you a few more registered users ;)

Anyway - you've made a great start thus far. Good luck!

Oh - and I don't know about all this "Old Man" stuff LOL
Age is but a number as far as web & graphic design is concerned :P

I like the style, but as Jacquii mentioned I think the site would be better served with something more on subject (colors and images that are "Kentucky". That theme would be sweet on a tech site or stereo site.

My default style is the only one I use for Kentucky related topics. The other styles are of different schemes that others may like. As you mentioned, maybe a tech site or a media site of some kind. I just do those styles hoping they may be useful for others. It's just something I like to do since I am disabled.

Thank you for the input though.
