Advanced subscriptions alternative

Hi guys, on our previous board we user advanced subscriptions to post members details to a database when a user signs up for a paid membership, I noticed that's its not available for vb for. Anyone know about a alternative or where to start coding one, I'm comfitable coding just not sure where to start lol
