Those are images located in the images/buttons folder and are called lastpost_left.png and lastpost-right.png. You need to upload news ones to that folder with te same name

in admin panel go to styles & templates and open style manager
on the right choose Style Variable Editor and click go
scroll down until you see Buttons
click Content Button Background and enter color code
