Is there a mod that I can use to get that same look. I have seen gallery pics in the sidebar, but not up top.

Also, that one randomly shows pics everytime the page is refreshed, so it is never the same images all the time.

I'd recommend you check out DBTech vBGallery and/or DBTech vBSlider. They both offer features you seem to be looking for.
