.DS_Store file ?

What is the purpose of this file? ".DS_Store"

I found it on my server and don't recall seeing it before. Can I remove it?

You have a Mac. It automatically adds that file to any directory you enter. You uploaded it to your server when you uploaded a directory to your server. You may delete it.

Yes, same thing happened when I started using my Mac.
Just delete it/them, they don't do anything

You'll get them even if you don't have a Mac, as a lot of mods are developed by Mac users, so you'll find it in a lot of modification folders.
