Recently my vB4.x database capacity exceeded the limit my hosting provider placed on their servers, but when this happened, it stopped me from logging in to AdminCP until I migrated to VPS.

Now every time people upgrade their software, the forum tends to increase in size as new features are installed, whilst old ones are no longer neccessary. This also happens when bots slip through all the blockers you have installed. I heard there is a Database Cleaner mod on here but, after trying to search for it, I've drawn a blank.

Can anyone help?

I would look into cleaning out the table PM's are stored in. depending on how big/old/active your forum is, it can get big QUICK.

Wow, pretty old thread to necro there zylstra.

At any rate if the guy is still in need of a different host, I'll suggest these guys for supercheap VPS.
