Have VB 4.2.0 Level 3

Can't 'add new ad' in admincp

Get a blank section in admincp (same with manage ads but the skim link options work under the advertising tab)

Advertise > Add new ad - Blank admincp
Advertise > Manage ads - Blank admincp
Advertise > skim link global options - works fine
Advertise > skim link advan options - works fine

Thanks

If you have some add on in your browser that blocks pop ups turn it off then try you will find you will be able to see it

That did not work.

The 2 other options under 'Advertise' work.

Only the 'add new ad' & 'manage ads' does not work

NOTE - I get a blank admincp page not a blank page - the VB control panel is still visible.

What is in your error_logs (if you don't know where they are, ask your host) at the time you try to access the page?

Did this just start happening recently, but was working before, or has it always been this way? If it's always been this way, any chance you're just missing the relevant Admin CP files?

Was working last I remember... Not working now.

What admin cp files would be missing to cause this issue?

Unless you've made some significant changes to one or more of your files, I would just re-upload all of them. Excluding the config file, of course. Or just re-upload all of your Admin CP files. Like I said, unless you've made some significant changes to the literal files, then you'll be okay. You can also rule them being missing out.

My hosting doesn't collect error logs. If it does I don't have access to it unless I upgrade my hosting.

Any other options?

Wait, your host doesn't let you access your error logs? Not even if you ask them? (!?)

Still have this issue.

Can not see Advertise > add new ad and can not see Advertise > manage ad

Any help in diagnosing the issue would be great...

Here is a page from the manual about troubleshooting blank or 'white' pages: https://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/blank_pages

But, the best way to start troubleshooting is from viewing error_logs. I honestly have never heard of a host not allowing their customers to view error_logs.

The ones where they found Patch Level 3 and expected Patch Level 2 are just fine. But, you should reupload the other files. In fact, you may want to just redownload the 4.2.0 package and reupload all the default files. Save a copy of your /includes/config.php file just in case you need it.

Ok. I have re-uploaded all the files for the 4.2.0 package.

I am having an issue with the config.php file in notepad.. The alignment of the php file is all messed up and out of line. What could cause this. Old config.php is still up and in use. What will this do if I use old config.php file?

Did you go through ALL the steps on this page - https://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/blank_pages? Does your host have suhosin or mod_security installed?

Went through it.. Same issue. Not resolved. Not sure on the last question.

Was the 1st thing I tried.

Not sure on the last question.

mod_security/suhosin are protections installed by your host, and they sometimes interfere with vBulletin operations when vB triggers something the scripts think is shady. I had this issue in recent weeks, and I had to work with them for several days as I kept discovering new things that would trigger mod_security. They had to add several modifications and default functionality in the Admin CP to mod_security's exception list.
