View Full Version : How do I create new sections that aren't subsections of the Front Page Section

When I initially installed vB4 in my dev directory I went ahead and let it install the sample stuff into the CMS and there were a few sections and articles and stuff that came with it. I eventually deleted that stuff out of the dev before I installed for my live site and now I'm regretting it because I an't figure out how to create sections that are independent of the Front Page section and appear next to it in the menu below the articles tab and next to the Front Page section as it did when the demo material was in there. Whenever I click to create a new section it creates them only as subsections to the Front Page section so I'm sure I'm doing something wrong.

What'd I'd like is to have four total independent sections (Front Page, Podcasts, Videos, Featured Bloggers) with all of them appearing in the menu and for the most recent article from each of the other three sections to appear on the Front Page section. Is this possible?

If you delete the vbulletin cms from the plugins then run the upgrade.php it will install it for you just like it would as a new install

Is that the only way to create the sections I want? I'd like to avoid the naming and other issues I was having that lead to me deleting those sections from the dev version of the site.

So I figured out that all those sections in the example CMS data were subsections of the Front Page but I still can't figure out what it is that makes them appear in the menu next to the front page link.
