Hi all,

I was wondering how I change formum.php to www.whatever.com [without index.php]

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to link other website, but I read this from another site, but it doesn't appear to work. Can someone please advise me if the coding is right?

I've used the VBulletin Mod-Rewrite and it's fine, ie /forum.thread.php to /forums:

If you want to change forum.php to forum root when you use vbulletin 4, you need to do 2 steps:

1. Redirect forum.php to index.php.
You have to remove the current index.php file, and rename the forum.php to index.php, then in the AdminCP->Settings->vBulletin Options->Forum Home Page Options, set the first option to index.

2. Omit index.php from the URL.
Modify or add this following code to your .htaccess file located in forum root directory :

Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^.*/index.php
RewriteRule ^(.*)index.php$ http://mydomain.com/$1 [R=301,L]

Change the mydomain.com with your forum url

That will redirect index.php to the root directory /

Can I ask if you are using vB suite or vba cmps? If you are using just forum then the index.php variables should be changed to forum.php. However, without actually checking/doing this can't confirm this will work as the vb navigation sometimes causes issues with htaccess rewrites
