Ok guys Im having an issue that I can figure out. Some peoples are randomly needing to be approved. What would cause this? I thought it was because they were posting external links but now were getting them on post even without links.

Check what usergroup they are in, and check permission; "Follow Forum Moderation Rules" specifically.

Also check what forum they are posting in. If they're all coming from the same forum, you need to check that forum's settings and that posts aren't required to be approved by a moderator.

Also, if you are using AdminCP > Settings > Options > Spam Management > Akismet or Typepad, then that may be putting the posts into moderation.

check both of those and they are all set to require no moderation.

Lynne the only spam mgmt is the typepad one. Its just frustrating having people PM me that there post need approved

And if you have Typepad selected, then that is why the posts are going to moderation. I suggest you either disable that, or loosen up on the settings on that page.

check to see if those usergroups are not Users Awaiting Email Confirmation
and verify the permissions on that group

Its the regulars that post all the time that are having the issues

see if they have something in common like same usergroup and and verify the permissions on that group

They seem to be fine. all permissions are set to not require moderation for the forum as well as the usergroup

Well, someone changed something. Can you go back through the control panel logs and get a clue on what someone may have done recently? Also, check the forums and make sure you don't have them set to have all threads/posts go to moderation (Forum Manager). And what do you have selected for Spam Management?
