Users subscribing to email notifications - private forum

I need some help!! We have a private paid forum and the permissions that I set seem to be working perfectly - until recently. I have been getting messages titled "New Subscription" with the body saying "[email] subscribed to email notifications!" This email is not associated with an active user and the permissions are pretty locked down. I even went into the forum using a different browser and was not able to see any links to where I could subscribe to email notifications without being registered. Any suggestions? I am hoping that even if they are subscribed, that based on their permissions they wouldn't be able to see anything any way!

I don't find that message anywhere in vbulletin - could it be from a mod? Are you sure it's even being sent out by your site?

Believe it or not, that's not something that I considered. I looked at the header and it looks correct. I will have to contact the owner of the site and see if maybe her computer has been compromised. Thank you for your help! It's just strange....
