Is there a way to make the RSS Feed Manager post all new feed items into 1 single thread, rather than making a new thread every time?

Preferably with something like a hook/plugin rather than modifying the core code.

There is no way without changing code. The existing code is in includes/cron/rssposter.php, and there are no hooks that would let you use plugins.
