can you strip the [edited by..] out of the edit window?

is there a way to strip the [edited by XX on xx] when someone edits a message so they keep duplicating?

also - when people go to their profile, the setting for recieve email default is always selected to yes, and the private message defaults are always set to no --

any help on these?

how do i edit my "IP: Logged" line? i can't find it in the templates.
