How do I make an auto PM upon signup

I want to make an automated PM for new members. I can't figuar out how to do so. Please help!

This is for 2.0.3 lic. version.

What this PM was supposed to do is automaticly sends PM to new members right after sign up so they get like a welcome letter and or some policy rules.

Anyone, intrested if I can figuar out how to make one? I assume no one knows how to so I wanna try and make it.

I think it would be easy for a novice in php like me :)

How about if I edit the template called "redirect_registerthanks"
in that I add php to send PM to new user, have no php code yet though :(

I am interested in this too. I saw the hack for an automated email, but prefer a welcome message via pm.

But I'm not sure if it will work for lower versions than 2.2.5 and it does work on my board though
