DragonByte Technologies are proud to present InfoPanels v2: The most feature-packed Welcome Panel system for vBulletin, and the first Welcome Panel system for vBulletin 5!
Why InfoPanels?
Info Panels is another product from DragonByte Technologies, creators of vBActivity and vBShout. Info Panels allows you to display useful and interesting information in a much more user friendly way, allowing your members to access important areas of the forum, and important information, without having to go through different menu screens.
The Welcome Panel displays all the information your users may want to see instantly when they log on, without having to go searching for it. A handy Module format means you don't have to fiddle with complex code in order to drop it on ANY page, you simply use the Site Manager natively in vBulletin 5!
The Top X Stats portion of the software allows your users to keep track of whats going on in the forum almost in real time - perfect for boards with many forums which are hard to keep track of!

Update:
A Pro-only vBOption (Disabled Statistics) was accidentally left in the .zip file - it would most likely produce a bitfield error.

Was just curious about how the install and uninstall works for vb5 and this mod?
DragonByte Tech
09-17-2012, 06:21 PM
Exactly the same as on vB3 and vB4 - except we support loading the XML file from the server as opposed to having to upload it from your computer :)
We don't use the AutoInstall functionality because it's currently unknown to us how it handles mods that print messages during install / how it handles redirects post-install.

Is this only working with forum or is blogs and groups also supported?
DragonByte Tech
09-19-2012, 02:24 PM
I'm not 100% sure what you're asking...
You can drop the module anywhere, blogs or forums or custom pages.
There's currently no blocks that pull Blog content available.

I was thinking about if :
New posts and threads since the user's last visit - if they include blog posts and group posts?
Forum Stats: Total Members / Total Threads / Total Posts - if they include blog posts and group posts?
Top Poster with link to their profile, showing number of posts and threads they have
Own Posts / Threads - if they include blog posts and group posts?
etc.
Its a great way of giving users a quick overview of whats going on, but since I also very much use blogs and groups, it would be nice if they counted the sameway as forum posts
DragonByte Tech

Ah, no they do not.
There will be separate blocks for those things, but they are Pro-only :)

I'm getting a ton of errors if I upload the product prior to being in the ACP and before site builder is turned on. I have to remove dbtechinfopanels from the packages directory to regain access.
I'd rather not post the errors here since they reveal my complete setup information.
DragonByte, if your IP hasn't changed you already have access to my dev server to reproduce the problem. The only change is it ends with vb5b10 now.

Okay there's no way I'm reading through quadruple post >.<
Look, I can't help with B11 issues. I'm developing on B13 and it works fine for me. I'm waiting for anyone else to confirm that they have issues with it too.
Furthermore, it's considered by mod authors to be extremely rude to send PMs asking them to read a post in one of their mod threads
To a lesser degree it's also considered rude to bump a thread going "can I have some support".
Whenever I receive an email about a reply to one of my vb.org threads, I'll look at the post in the preview before deciding to reply straight away or not.
If it's someone saying their site broke, then yeah I'll drop everything in my hands to reply to it ASAP.
If it's someone reporting a visual issue in a beta mod for a beta version of vBulletin that nobody is running on a live site, thus affecting exactly nobody, then I won't take a break from coding (I'm very much in a "zone" when I'm coding and distractions make it hard to resume).
If it's someone reporting an issue that I've addressed in the post above theirs, that's answered in the feature list, that's bumping the thread for support, etc...
Those kind of posts make my blood boil, and so I deliberately choose to avoid responding to them right away because I know I would be unable to maintain a professional attitude when responding. That's very much a character flaw in me, and the way I deal with it for the moment is to just take a step back and put it off until the next day or whenever, then come back to it with a fresh mind.
As a result, I tend to answer most of my vBulletin.org support threads in batches.
In short: Please do not bump threads for support, especially please do not PM us to bump threads for support, and please be patient :)
Thank you for your understanding :)

to wait 3 days for a response, knowing that you have been online :(
1) i pointed out there was still an issue for B3
2) i would of thought you checked the zip file before uploading knowing that the xml wasnt b3
3) i had to look all though the xml product file to notice a difference and that wasnt easy
sorry that i bumped 2 threads but a response to know that you was looking into it would of been better so that i didnt have to wait 3 days

Honestly I wouldn't expect alot of responses or development on a beta version of software that as DBT has said shouldn't even be used on a live site anyways. I am sure that once vB5 goes gold then all the mods will start rolling in and support will get alot more priority. I happen to know the owners of DBT (not personally but through the net) and I know they work hard to create the best mods for vB there is. I'm sure it's hard to keep up with 20+ products on vB3 & vB4 plus now doing a mod for vB5 give the guys some slack. It's not that big of a deal because as stated it's beta and shouldn't be used on a live site. Just be thankful someone has created a few mods for vB5.

Just a quick note on that, there is at least eight people who log in under the screen name DragonByte Tech, so while you may see the name as being online, it may not be the developer of the mod you are asking support in.
It is standard practice at DBTech for each developer to handle their own mods support issues, as developer A may not know how to handle a situation in developers B mod.
I hope that makes sense to you, not trying to be rude or anything just trying to give ya some incite. :)

isn't that breathing terms and conditions giving out your username to 8 other people
why not give them access, putting each of their email addresses in the members area that way that wouldn't need to happen

This is a company account for the company license with only company employees or subcontractors having access. Everyone who can access the account also has personal licenses on top of that.
Having separate usernames would mean in the event a coder left the company we would not be able to continue to update their mods (since it would be under their username) and various issues like that.
As far as I know it's not an issue, but if one of the vb.org staff told us there was an issue we would of course look into alternatives.

Suggestions :
this is in regards to all products / template edits
( as mentioned you are a company allowing multiple customers access your account and each have their own individual licence )
1) put the Supporters / CoAuthors name for each of the mods products / templates created
as some would be unsure of who the creator of the product is

It is not an issue, nor is it relevant to a modification support thread.
Also, some people really need to learn a bit of patience, three days is nothing when the modification and support are free. ;)
So, lets now get this thread back to support of the mod. :)

Because of the constant state of flux this mod is in during development, I've re-branded it to Alpha, however I'm keeping the version number, so this version is Alpha 4.

I have downloaded and installed this mod on my forums but I can not for the life of me get it to display on the page, I drag the modules in to the layout of the page but when I save the page nothing and they have disappeared from the edit page function.
I have tried reinstalling, flushing caches, checked all areas of settings. If someone has any idea how to fix this that would be great because I would like to trial the modification before purchasing a pro license.

I redownloaded from your site, i have been able to get the modules to show now but i noticed a very small error.
In Top posters and newest member there was this line
<td><a href="{vb:raw post.profileurl}" title="{vb:raw post.fullusername">{vb:raw post.musername}</a></td>
as you can see it is missing a } after post.fullname, this only caused a problem if you hovered over the name but only to a point of it displaying "{vb:raw post.fullname" instead of the user's name

I see.
This change is already present in my development version - all our mods are currently stuck in a weird "limbo" because of how quickly new vB5 versions are pushed out with breaking changes.
Until this settles down, it's going to be difficult for us to fully support our vB5 mods - hence why they're all flagged as Alpha.
Thanks for letting me know :)

point taken.. but it is a live forum so I can' have things running there if they don't work..
The main issue I have is that the entire STATS module takes too much space in at the button of the page. In the old Vbulletin it was just 2 lines below the active users, that was actually perfectly fine.
Seems to be working fine in firefox..
Chrome is reporting:
There is a serious error and the page cannot be rendered
IE is reporting:

Thanks,I see the issue is only present when the board is switched off..I think my browser was caching on firefox thats why It worked.
Turning the board on rectifies the problem.Possibly a bug.To reproduce it you need to connect using another device with the board switched off.

Great plugin.
One thing that I think should be removed/hidden/optional is the User Settings link at the Welcome Panel.
I don't understand why visitors should see a link (leading to nowhere when guests) in that area.
If anything, it should be only available when logged in already.
And also, I would argue this is something that should be optional to either show/hide as part of the configuration. I have the "User Settings" in my profile at the top, so I would keep my page 'clean' without any additional links if possible.
Also, I can just click my Profile in the Top Stats, so I can also get there fast.
Other than that, looks great.

Yes, I have 5.1.9 patch 3 currently operating with infopanels pro/full version. I attempted to upgrade to 5.1.10, the infopanels had not displayed. I reverted back to 5.1.9 patch 3, and will wait until your products are updated (as well as another company's products). ^^ This. Works for me on 5.2.1
The only issues that I'm seeing as far as this mod is concerned are the stats in the "Welcome Panel" are completely wonky and incorrect. You also having this dilemma there @shimei? However the "Top Stats" are in fact correct. Weird.
And yes as I'm seeing with just about all of @DragonByte Tech mods here on vB.org, the admincp settings absolutely do not save!

I'm noticing a problem with the "newest replies" list in the Top X Stats block. We have a hidden forum restricted for a custom usergroup (and higher) to be able to see only and it works for that purpose, but the "newest replies" makes this forum's activity visible to all users, even those not logged into the site at all! (Guests/visitors). We've gone over the permissions very carefully to make sure the error wasn't ours, even taking away all permissions to that forum temporarily from all but super admins and its replies still get listed in the block. This looks like some issue that cropped up in the past with this add-on, no? Any thoughts? Running 5.2.2 and newest infopanels from your site.

Works like a charm on 5.2.4
mdawg
10-13-2016, 03:16 PM
I installed on my 5.2.4 test forum - seemed okay. But when I installed on my actual forum, some issues:
It does work, however Welcome Panel statistics aren't correct. (1) At my forum for example it says that I have 5 unread PMs, but I don't show any new messages.
I had a different user check, your app showed that he had 2 unread messages - of total of 10, also incorrect as he had 0 unread of 6 total in his inbox.
(2) No matter WHEN the last time was that you logged into the forum, the mod always says that the last time was ".....your last visit at Today 12:00 AM." Always Today at midnight no matter what.
(3) Also, error:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2016/10/9.jpg
So, the app needs some modification/updates it is still buggy.
P.S. As far as "hot fixes" - my suggestion is to just update the version number anytime you make changes. I run multiple forums and trying to figure out whether each has the latest of your various softwares is problematic otherwise.
DragonByte Tech
10-15-2016, 08:32 AM
(3) Also, error:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2016/10/9.jpgCan you use the debug tools in your browser to check the result of the AJAX query? There's probably a PHP error "infecting" the JSON, and I'll need that error message to assist you further with this.

Now where would I look for the debug tools in my browser? Also would I need to look at the exact moment this error occurs because it has happened that once only so far.
What about the other issues, that the mod is telling people they have unread PMs when in fact they have zero, and that it always says that last time you visited was midnight today?
Thanks!
P.S. Also just determined that for example, even after a new post is made (yesterday), and viewed (today), the mod will not let go and keeps claiming that "There have been 1 posts and 0 threads since your last visit at Today 12:00 AM."

What about the other issues, that the mod is telling people they have unread PMs when in fact they have zero, and that it always says that last time you visited was midnight today? We'll deal with one issue at a time, it may be that vB has changed the structure for this information but I can't look into that properly just now as I am in the process of moving house, so things are a bit chaotic for me just now :)

That's not an error message, it's a JavaScript file. If your site is unable to run JavaScript correctly then that's beyond this mod, it's a much deeper problem that I've never encountered before.

P.S. Info panels are working fine at my forum.

I checked active newest members to no on the newest members block. But it did not cease to display. Instead I had blanked out dbtech_infopanels_block_newestmember css template. Here's the result:

You may as a work around consider blanking out the appropriate templates for top posters.
Would love to see this fixed.

I blank it too but still have only empty column.
How did you manage to have it displayed like this? It's just perfect:

To get rid of the empty columns you'll have to add some css like this to your additional_css:
div#dbtech_topxstats_column2 {
display:none !important;
}
div#dbtech_topxstats_column3 {
display:none !important;
}

I manage to do same by deleteing part od code from dbtech_infopanels_topxstats. But what about displaying all that informations that are dispayed on your page. How to do that?

Have you checked your server's error log? vB5 does not print any errors unless you enable debug & error display in both of its config.php files, IIRC.

There's a menu and a home link.I could not find the home link at all when I visited your site :(
I must say, updating your testing environment when a problem presents itself on a new update seemingly would solve a lot of these back and forth issues.Sure, but please also bear in mind that it takes a long time to update my testing environment every time there's an update, vB5 release a lot of Alpha and Beta versions that should never be used in a production environment or on a live site, and also the fact that as a business it's virtually impossible to make money for vB5.
I hope you, in your professional life, do not rely on a single 3rd party company to make good decisions that enables you to make money improving their product. I have done so in the past (when we tried to make mods for vB5), and it was a nightmare.
If you think it's just me, that I'm the only coder that don't want to deal with vB5, then why not look right here on vB.org?
vB3 add-ons: 1,438
vB4 add-ons: 1,959
vB5 add-ons: 73
If vB5 is a platform that supports modification development, then why would there be so few vB5 mods? Purely in terms of numbers, vB5 has 3.72% of the amount of modifications vB4 has. 5.0.0 Gold was officially released four years ago, on 21 February 2013. Four years to make 73 mods, that's quite the slow rate of development, if you were going to say "but vB4 has been out for longer".
On a more personal note, development for vB5 is needlessly complicated, and I don't like working with the platform. Compared to literally every other platform I have worked with (vB3, vB4, XenForo, Zend Framework, Laravel, Symfony), vB5 is easily the worst in terms of whether I am enjoying my time coding.
I hope you can understand and sympathise; coding isn't just "coding", each platform is almost like its own dialect of a language, and there are some dialects you can understand much more easily than others.
All of that being said, I do understand where you're coming from. You paid for a product and it isn't receiving new feature or bugfix updates except for when new vB5 versions necessitate it. It's also true that even if a new non-beta version of vB5 was released, I would not update my testing environment unless someone reported an issue I couldn't fix by asking enough questions.
I hope I have at least helped you understand why I've not been rushing to update whenever vB5 releases a new Alpha or Beta version. I do still intend to keep supporting the vB5 mods in terms of bugfixing whenever someone reports that a new version has broken the existing functionality.

I just installed vB5 for the first time, upgraded from vb4 and I entirely sympathize with you Fillip. For a decently clean install (used a brand new directory with no vb4 files, just upgraded the database) I'm running into a lot of crap-tastic bugs and issues with vBulletin itself.
For what it's worth, the info panels are working fine for me on 5.2.6.

Since you acknowledge my position and I hope, now share empathy for my personal matters - how about issuing a refund?I looked into the details of your purchase, and if you can demonstrate that the product has been 100% unusable for you for all of the 19 months since you purchased the product (meaning, the issue you are experiencing just now has happened ever since day 1 of purchase), I would be happy to grant you a refund :)
Otherwise, I will unfortunately have to refer to our refund policy that states that once a product has been downloaded, the customer is no longer eligible for a refund.
As always, I'm happy to visit a customer's site to resolve any issues they may be facing, but I prefer to try to ascertain the nature of the problem and fix it before having to resort to asking for login details. I prefer remote debugging because a lot of people are apprehensive about handing out their login details, and handing over login details always carries with it a security risk. Our site, or vB.org, could be hacked the selfsame day as the PM with the details had been sent, thus exposing the customer's site to risk.
That being said, in this case it would seem like the issue is unique to your site, as neither myself nor other customers can replicate the issue. That's the point where I have no choice but to request an FTP and AdminCP account in order to debug this issue further, so if you change your mind I would be happy to look at the problem on-site :)

I also have a subforum which is hidden to the public and only accessible to Administrators -- I can see the forum, but new replies in that subforum doesn't show up in the Newest Replies block. Any tips on troubleshooting?

I only notice this when someone posts a polls or links thread. They are different than a regular discussion thread, I suppose. So if someone starts a thread that began as a link, it and further replies will not show.
Can I ask you to check something for me too? When I trim the maximum amount of characters in the thread title, forum title, and or user name in the Newest Replies it does not display. Anything other than zero and the entire module does not show.

I could not find the home link at all when I visited your site :(
Sure, but please also bear in mind that it takes a long time to update my testing environment every time there's an update, vB5 release a lot of Alpha and Beta versions that should never be used in a production environment or on a live site, and also the fact that as a business it's virtually impossible to make money for vB5.

Hey DragonByte,
I had bought a lot of plugs for VB4 from you and I LOVED THEM!!!
I was looking at your webpage since I've made the switch to VB5, and the top of the page says "no more major updates due to changes VB has made".
So I was under the impression that they just opened the hooks system up so that Dev's could have an easier time..... no?
Just trying to understand your plight and I'm holding out hope that things improve so that people come back to VB.

Apparently this mod is no longer supported. :( This is bar none the most important add-on on my site and while it's good, it's not quite as good as what we had in vb4. The "Visitor Messages" that shows up is really annoying, though.

It is supported, although I rely on users reporting issues rather than installing every new vB5 version to test for bugs.
The message @ our site still stands; it is not currently possible or viable to provide major updates to this mod due to design decisions taken by Internet Brands. The product is provided as-is, with no promise of future feature updates.

I've been reporting the issue for almost a month, bumping this thread asking for help about random "Visitor Messages" being captured in the Top Stats panel including the screenshot.
Edit: Disregard the new issue - apparently vB5 doesn't give a clean "Database connection error" window anymore and just throws error code 500 when it can't connect to the database. God I hate vB5.

500 is a server error of some sort. If that's being displayed within vBulletin, then you should put your site into debug mode to get the actual error.

If you are also using the shoutbox, then the statistic tool counts the shouts in it...
So it says right now:
You have 2,92 posts per day (34 posts today).
But I had only one post in forum today... the rest in shoutbox

Mine too, revert all changes in Infopanels' admincp. If anything other than the default settings such as topic title character length ect are altered then it won't display.

I still see the infopanels TOP STATS down at the bottom, seemed updated and working on my 5.3.1 ?
WELCOME PANEL at top seems to be working too except that it still has that bug in it that tells me I have 5 unread PMs which is incorrect.
Also, as far as the bug mentioned by Manuela in post #162, about the shoutbox messages adding onto the total of posts made in the WELCOME PANEL, I have not noticed this, but I have noticed that the system seems to update saying that I had a post today when it was not I who made the new post, but some other member.

I installed this onto a brand new forum which currently has only two users so it is easier to track the posts.
On this new forum, the one user has made 49 posts. He is the top poster.
However in your Welcome Panel, near top, it says: "_______ is our top poster with 0 posts and 9 threads."
So I don't know what this mod is counting, but it is not working.

If you load a DbTech product, such as this one, onto a forum with thousands of members and tens of thousands of posts, which yes I have done that, then it is easy to say "It's ok."
But load it onto a brand new forum and keep track of the post and thread count and you will see that this mod is inaccurate, and doesn't really work properly.

The read me file says:
1. Upload all files from the "upload" folder to your forums directory.
But where exactly do I upload files? What is the directory path from root?
Thanks!
mdawg

Open the Upload folder
You will then see all the files to upload.
Open your forums directory folder
Select all of the files in that Upload folder.
Upload all those files into that forums directory folder.
(If you are doing it correctly, you will be asked to Overwrite multiple folders.)
Thanx where can i see pro version ?!

Bug found - If a new thread is posted and includes a picture it won't show up in the "Newest Replies" panel. Delete the thread, re-post the same thread but don't attach any pictures and it shows up in Newest Replies.
"Visitor Messages" also randomly show up in the "Newest Replies" panel yet no one can figure out what they are or how to get rid of them - they just eventually fall off from more new replies.
This is one of the most sought after mods on my forum, yet like mdawg said it's not quite accurate and needs more work.

error Infopanels
Something is trying to access the Javascript before it finishes loading. Or something is causing an error in the Javascript to prevent other functionality from working. Does the problem happen with that addon disabled?
It appears that the initial error is being thrown with this code -
window.vBulletin=window.vBulletin||{};window.vBull etin.phrase=window.vBulletin.phrase||{};window.vBu lletin.phrase.precache=window.vBulletin.phrase.pre cache||[];window.vBulletin.phrase.precache=$.merge(window.v Bulletin.phrase.precache,['dbtech_infopanels_fetching_data_in_x','dbtech_inf opanels_fetching_data','dbtech_infopanels_click_re load_to_fetch']);
That belongs to an addon. The addon may need to be updated to work with newer versions of vBulletin 5.

Im ?brigen wird mir das Datum hinter den neuesten Usern nicht angezeigt.
Der Fehler liegt in der Datei newestmember.php:
// Format join date
$info['joindate'] = vbdate((array_key_exists('joindateformat', $block['code']) AND $block['code']
['joindateformat']) ? $block['code']['joindateformat'] : vB::getDatastore()->getOption('dateformat'), $info['joindate']);

What's bizarre is that if you disable the InfoPanels mod entirely, then the "SyntaxError: Unexpected token in v in JSON at position 1" error disappears, but then (and only as as long InfoPanels remains disabled), the vbShout add on then starts having a "200 parser error" upon first loading, which disappears after a few seconds.
