You should just block China for a few weeks. This bot will absolutely drain your bandwidth

How do you block an entire country like China?

You can use the .htaccess to ban China's CIDR ranges
http://www.okean.com/chinacidr.txt
IF you are on a VPS, you can ban China by firewall with shortcode CH

Is there a way to do it with the IP Deny function in cPanel?

IP Deny in cPanel is for per IP address. You need to edit the .htaccess

Just wondering...does adding all of those IPs to the .htaccess slow down the site since so many visits are from those IPs?
Thanks for the help.

I didn't experience any slow downs when I was hosting with liquidweb and the tech support was incompetent to do this for me.
You might want to look for a better host with better anti spam measures. I know of a few but I am not sure if we are allowed to publically recommend.
Also, you might want to look at VPS hosting to completely eliminate these issues. Since I moved to an self managed VPS I've not had any issues.

I understand there is a good chance there is newer posts about this problem however it is this 1 I come across first when searching.
Had lots of problems with these ip ranges draining bandwidth on site and at times there been that many connection from them that it lags site. Dont know if this will be useful to anybody having the problem with there site. But I have built up list for people to copy paste into there .htaccess
hope it is useful
It was thanks to this post that I got info to build list

You can use the .htaccess to ban China's CIDR ranges
Code:
http://www.okean.com/chinacidr.txt
IF you are on a VPS, you can ban China by firewall with shortcode CH
Just copy and paste list to bottom of your .htaccess file.

Hi all i have this bot trawling my site hn.kd.ny.adsl
I added hn.kd.ny.adsl to the ban spiders but it did nothing. This is the user agent below
hn.kd.ny.adsl
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MSIE 9.0; Windows NT 6.1; Trident/5.0); 360Spider(compatible; HaosouSpider;
Do i need to add any of the user agent for this to work.Any advice would be appreciated
Many thanks
