Hey there after installing the LITE version, I've set up everything and it's working fine but payments are not conforming automatically and I got a warning from PayPal through email about the IPN not working.

The following
Please check your server that handles PayPal Instant Payment Notifications (IPN). IPNs sent to the following URL(s) are failing:

/payment_gateway.php?method=paypal

If you do not recognize this URL, you may be using a service provider that is using IPN on your behalf. Please contact your service provider with the above information. If this problem continues, IPNs may be disabled for your account.

Payments through the original vbulletin subscriptions work fine never had any issues, now that I've also added this plugin to help pay for the site but not get a subscription it's getting this problem, can I not use both subscriptions and the vbdonate ?

Also to mention my IPN's are turned off. It says at history "The IPN feature is turned off. You must turn on IPN in order to create history data."

Auto confirming is a Pro only feature. As far as the message from PayPal, the file they mention is not a part of vBDonate, so I am not sure what that is about.

My contributors won't be added to my Donators group. I just want to add them to my donator group but not change the main group. But it won't work for me. Did i use wrong settings?

Hello,

On my forum, i had the "VSa - Advanced Forum Statistics (AJAX)" mod already installed. But when i installed the "DBTech vBDonate", the "amount goal box (where you can see the credit cards and PayPal logo)" is giving me an annoying bug :

The Statistics box becomes bold, all the text become gold and that's really unpleasant to see :

As you can see, when the DBTech mod is enabled, it adds on the source code the <b> <b> tags, and that makes the "VSa stats box" bold and it overflows on the right...

I tried to remove the <b> tags from the templates but i can't find it :/

I am having this same problem. Users aren't being added when I confirm and add. Everything is set up the same as before I updated. In the last version, I received an error every time I confirmed but it still added to the new usergroup. Now the error is gone but I must manually add them to the usergroup after.

It looks like with the images you have on ether side of the username, it is too long to fit in the display area, that is why it is showing like that. I would suggest making your sideblocks just a bit wider.

To make the blocks wider, change the forum_sidebar_width stylevar.

Which images are you referring to?

That is not possible at this time without editing the templates.

And when i say images, it's because the amounts donated seems to be displayed on a picture, the color of the background of the amounts is not the same as the bloc's.

I just installed the lite version, I'm having the same issue when trying to CHANGE the usergroup, I've been through the settings many times but can't get it to work. I use a similar feature with another produce (AWC) and it has been working.

That's a weird one, could you send me a full admin account so I can try and see wat the issue may be on your site.

I'll get it to you ASAP, I Also noticed today that I can't confirm contributions for users that are already in the donors usergroup. The prompts all look the same as usual, but after confirming the contribution it remains unconfirmed. If I change the user back to a regular user before confirming the system will allow me to confirm the donation but it still leave the user in the regular usergroup.

For some reasons, whenever any user tries to donate more than $5.00 USD, the payment defaults into $5.00.

He tried donating $40.00 but only $5.00 was sent.

Seems like the problem is that the payment defaults to the lowest suggest amounted.

TBH I believe that wold be a violation of PayPal terms, unless of course you are a Not For Profit organization, then if so, I think you would have to take that up with them.

If you just want a simple "Donate" system, Paypal will actually produce the code for you to place in a forum block, or in the footer of your forum, it also goes through their secure server, and you get a record of the transaction too, all for nothing, all you have to do is set up a Paypal account in yours or you forums name,

No need for a heavy MOD like this, about 10 lines of code and it's job done. !

This mod does much more than just accept donations. If you do not like the company, or the mod, please stay out of the thread, this is for discussions on the mod, not what you can do with something else. :)

Hi everyone,

A quick Patch Level update for vBDonate (1.4.5 PL2) which sorts out an issue affecting both the Lite and Pro versions which stops a user being added to a usergroup when their donation has been confirmed or the usergroup change is requested on the front end of the vBDonate system. Simply reupload the files with no need to import the XML to gain the benefit of the fix.

Hi, great addon. Anyways my current month's donation goal reached 120% in a few days. I want to set up next month's donation goal, how do I do it? I want the donation received to be reset to 0% and a new goal amount set.

I tried extending the month (jan 2014) to feb 2014 but all it did was make the countdown time longer. Thanks

The system will update each month to reset the goal, and you can at that point update your goal to reflect what you want to achieve that month. :)

I really like this mod and we have the Pro.

I've been asked to Clean up the Postbit. Right now we have the

Which of course results in
Total Contributions for:
Username $xxx.xx

How can we just just display something like this:

Hi everyone,

A new update for vBDonate (1.4.6) brings about a few new changes and features, as well as a small number of bug fixes. The changes include reorganizing some of the files, as well as making it possible to now add the hours/minutes/seconds to manually submitted donations. A major change is the system now uses the server date and time as opposed to the user's date and time to store donations information, improving how this is later displayed to the users.

Finally, a new features is that the confirmed contributions area now allows users to load only a specified length of time (optionally months or years) and also allows for a default option to be selected for users first landing on the page.

Is it possible to put it into config mode and get some details of how long queries are taking to load, etc?

Do you use any sort of caching?

You could try reuploading the older version (1.4.5 PL3) and see if it still runs slow (this should be possible in this case as the changes between versions are just templates and files, not database changes).

No, we don't use anything else except the dot.

Suggested amounts were default, I changed it to 5.0 but that has the same bug.
If I'd change it to 5.00 it'd be 500 USD/EUR whatever.

The setting about suggested or custom amount don't matter.
It's simply that the dot gets ignored anyways.

Our vBulletin language is German

I'm not sure what's causing this issue. If you set your suggested amount to '5', does that throw out the same error?

It might be worth redownloading the files again just in case there's been an issue of some sort in the download process.

If we set it to 5 it can not produce the same error as there is no dot that could be ignored.
The result is as expected: 5 EUR
Same is for 5.

BUT it doesn't matter if I choose 5.0 or 50, both gives the same result.

I'll redownload the files and try it again.

It still doesn't work, I completely re-downloaded and re-uploaded every single file and re-installed the add-on.

I just uploaded the files and xml. 2 of the images in the admin panel are not showing for some reason and when I look in the dbtech/vbdonate/images/admin file they are definitely there. Ive tried reimporting the product as well and still doesnt fix the issue.

Fillip, i also have the same issue with these two images not showing. Try installing the lite version and see. I am testing the lite version around and i like it, i might consider buying the pro version however few things i'd love to see happening

1. The contribution list. Adam had a pretty contribution list with members' avatars displaying and the style was displaying in yui (it was pretty sleek) https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=250340&highlight=donation (his plugin is dead though as many know)

2. The donation bar for the donation goal was progressive and animated in many nice ways when you refresh the page, you would see the progress bar moves.

3. He had many user-group control like which usergroup can (this is actually very important setting for me) :
- see the donation goal
- can see the donate button and donate
- can see the contributor list

The bug is caused by:

put this in your dodonate.php file replacing line 23 with these and see the difference:
echo "actual amount: ".$_REQUEST['amount']."<br/>";
$vbulletin->input->clean_gpc('p', 'amount', TYPE_UNUM);
echo "broken amount by the gpc function: ".$vbulletin->GPC['amount']."<br/>";
exit(); do not use this on your actual vbulletin systems, it's only for the dbtech team!

the result for me is:actual amount: 5.00
broken amount by the gpc function: 500

I just don't want to fix this by myself as this is a good hint for you guys to fix something and also I don't want to make any errors regarding security, as clean_gpc is needed somehow anyways.
I don't know how to use it and at the same time fix the bug....

Would you please fix this asap?

Fillip, i also have the same issue with these two images not showing. Try installing the lite version and see. I am testing the lite version around and i like it, i might consider buying the pro version however few things i'd love to see happening

1. The contribution list. Adam had a pretty contribution list with members' avatars displaying and the style was displaying in yui (it was pretty sleek) https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=250340&highlight=donation (his plugin is dead though as many know)

2. The donation bar for the donation goal was progressive and animated in many nice ways when you refresh the page, you would see the progress bar moves.

3. He had many user-group control like which usergroup can (this is actually very important setting for me) :
- see the donation goal
- can see the donate button and donate
- can see the contributor list

I'll try and look over what might be causing the missing images, I'm slightly puzzled by it. If possible, could you check what the exact broken link is to the image and post it here?

I will take a look at trying to implement your ideas when we do our big update on vBDonate which is due soon. I'm currently working on getting the v2 of the DBTech Classifieds ready and then I'll be concentrating on vBDonate.

I've found what was causing the problem. The options were being displayed from the Pro version that shouldn't exist in the Lite. I've fixed that for the next update.

That's an interesting fix to the problem, I was going to post that it might be the issue. I'll see if I can work forward with that idea.

We have found with several things that the language decimals/separators are usually the issue. Changing the settings in the main options seems to work better than using the language separators.

I mean: Using the German language pack - no matter what way you donate, it doesn't show up in the added contributions list and also not in the overall contribution amount of the donation bar.
So for example my donation goal is 100€, I can donate any amount I want, it will not come any closer to the goal.
The sandbox mode is not activated.

Also, the custom amount doesn't work with the commas, showing an error which states that the entered amount is not a number if I have a comma in it. There must be some other part of a script responsible for stripping the custom amount as well.

Don't you have a development version of vBulletin anywhere that you can simply drop the language pack on and see yourself?

I'm taking a look at this now to see if I can trace a solution. There have always been problems in the way the language packs pass settings of customized numbers back to scripts.

I've an idea on how we can permanently resolve the issue in v2 which will have to wait until then as it will require some of the additions/changes we plan on implementing. In the mean time, if you can, test it by clearing the language settings for your German pack. If that passes the variable correctly, it is the language pack that is definitely causing the issue. If not, then it's something else.

I've got a Spanish pack installed I used for testing the Classifieds money settings on which I'll have a play around with now. How I fixed it for Classifieds requires the changes I mentioned above for vBDonate. ;)

Having looked at this, I think I have a solution. I've tested this as far as I can (On my dev install I can't go beyond the PayPal payment section).

I've created a setting now that let's you choose your separator for the values and the system checks that. My tests show fine. It's my guess that your contributions are going into the 'unconfirmed' section in your tests.

Once I've marked it as confirmed the correct amount is added to the banner.

Let me know if you want to give the code a test as per the PM I sent you and we can see if we've got a fix for you. :)

An update for vBDonate (1.4.7) includes some bug fixes as well as a new setting aimed at improving support for other languages. It had been problematic trying to create values if the language you had on your site used a comma ',' for the decimal point (separator), i.e. 20,00 instead of 20.00. Now it's possible to use the comma as the decimal point and change the separator we use for the amounts available to users to pick from. Before the amounts needed to be listed like 5.00,10.00,15.00. But with the Amount Separator setting you can choose to use another character such as '/' allowing users who need the comma for their decimal point to be able to do so. Several of the fixes also improved the formatting of the currency values for other languages, something we will be continuing to expand as we move towards version 2 of vBDonate.

Please note that the sidebar width in itself is not the issue, as I have changed it from the default 270px to an exaggerated 350px - to no avail.

Also note that my theme disables the icons in the block header but I doubt that that is the issue.

The issue MIGHT be, as I said, that the 'shadowing' of the inner 'latest contributions' header being larger than the container it is in ... but I'm no developer so I'd rather not mess around unless instructed to by the professionals :p

You mean you tried to code in the changes? We've got plans in version 2 to expand features around the goals. At the moment I wouldn't suggest creating a custom goal yourself as I've no idea how it will work with the rest of the mod. :)

I've found some issues that we need to resolve in a future update, but I can provide you a work around for now:

In the template: dbtech_vbdonate_sideblock

Find:

Replace with:

I can't seem to get the auto-post new thread to work. I'm using the latest 1.4.7.pl1 release. I've setup my forum to post to and I've having it create a new thread each time. I've done the following:

left poster ID, Thread ID and Post ID blank.
Added poster ID, left thread ID and Post ID blank.

Set contribution thread to yes and sticky thread to yes.

I've checked that post a new thread is yes and enabled is yes as well.

thoughts on what I may be doing wrong? I'm using vb 4.4.2

If the (non-admin) user is given priviliges to see the donator list, the link leading to it is not showing up as a tab or menu entry when either on this page vbdonate.php?do=contrib_table OR clicking on the yui-gen-popupmenu (the one that pops up when clicking the title of the donation bar).

Just installed this and so far, it looks very good. One very minor question. How do I change the color of the text in the button on the Navbar? I looked at the style variables but don't see a listing for that button. It is green now and though that does make it stand out, I would like for it to match my other buttons.

This is an excellent mod I must say; I a total noob found it simple to install and setup, even if some of the extra features did confuse me.

I do wonder though, can it be setup in multiple currencies? I'd like to accept donations in GBP (Sterling) USD and Euro's to coincide with the ability to have multiple currency balances in paypal it's self. As our teamspeak is paid for in USD, game features in Euro and the Teamspeak in GBP it would also potentially dent the wastage of funds in the exchange rate.

I know it says above "one type only" is there a way around that?

I have the lite version installed (1.4.8) and set to add users to a usergroup once I've confirmed their donation, but it's not working. Any help resolving this issue would be appreciated.

eL;2524197']This is an excellent mod I must say; I a total noob found it simple to install and setup, even if some of the extra features did confuse me.

I do wonder though, can it be setup in multiple currencies? I'd like to accept donations in GBP (Sterling) USD and Euro's to coincide with the ability to have multiple currency balances in paypal it's self. As our teamspeak is paid for in USD, game features in Euro and the Teamspeak in GBP it would also potentially dent the wastage of funds in the exchange rate.

I know it says above "one type only" is there a way around that?

You broke including personal external scripts.
As soon as your donation bar is on the page, any custom included scripts don't work.
Please fix this ASAP

I'll get back to you on that as I've not worked on the vBAdvanced integration up until now.

This sounds more like the custom script has broken vBDonate than the other way around... :D

What issues are you having? If you can provide some links/images/details I'll see what we can do about it. :)

Thanks for the fast reply. It would be awesome if the contribution bar could be a the top of the screen as well as have a module option that looks exactly like the sidebar you've already created for the forum.

I'll see what's possible. I've not used vBAdvanced for a while so I don't know what's possible... :)

I should've been more precise, i meant a javascript included simply through the header.
We only added that AFTER updating to 1.4.8 - though the bug exists, I don't know if its new or not as I won't downgrade to the insecure version which had the XSS vulnerability.

Sorry for not saying what kind of script: It's a Javascript and therefore didn't break anything.

As soon as VBdonate is running, the script doesn't work any longer.
It's working on all other pages, where vbdonate is not running.
As soon as I deactivate vbdonate, it works as intended, too.

You can see an example after registring on censored
The snowflakes are gone, where vbdonate is running.
Please fix the problem.

Automatic confirming of the donations is a pro only feature. If you have the pro version, you need to ask about that in their site in the pro support forum for the mod.

There was a thread in that forum that will tell you a few things to check to ensure you are getting the right info returned fro PayPal. :)

I asked, and you answered on behalf of DBTech (conflict of interest here?)

I then tried to implement your answer and got stuck, and asked a followup, which was never answered.

There are apparently settings in PayPal that need to be inserted for this to work, and even so, it isn't auto confirming. Can anyone else help?

I've taken a look at this proble. I think the issue is purely down to running two headerblocks, one inside the other. I wasn't the original coder for the mod, so I'm not certain why it was done that way.

However, what I'd suggest is adding a margin-left CSS to the dbtech_vbdonate_block.css template. It can't really be done by us at the moment, and I've a revamp of the styling planned for the new year that should remove the problem permanently. If you set a minus figure (like -5px) to the margin-left that might move it inline with the above header.

It's not feasible for us to back-port updates to every single legacy version.

I like this mod, however one problem I am facing is when people donate using the mod from my homepage the donations go on hold from PayPal as if it was an item being purchased from my site. The only way to release the funds is by logging into PayPal and setting the donation item as shipped. I am not sure if this is a PayPal issue or mod issue.

Any suggestions on this issue is greatly appreciated.

So far this mod looks very close to what I need to set up donations on my site. There are two things I am worried about.

1) Ive installed the mod and set up paypal sandbox testing. Everything is working okay except that the donating accts are not added to the proper secondary user group after being confirmed. Their user title isn't changing either. The donation is moved to the confirmed section though.

2) I am unable to hide the Contribution Actions menu on the Navbar Submenu. I've set that setting to No in the Control Panel, but it still shows up. I'm trying to do testing now and don't want users actually trying to donate until Ive got the bugs worked out.

Am I missing something here?
