Hello, I am new here and have a question that I have been wondering for awhile. I am the moderator of a site hosted by vBulletin right now. I was wanting to see what it would take to buy a license and then buy out the website so me and the administrators that are over it can have total control over the site. So how much does a license usually run and is it possible to buy out a site from a currently licensed vBulletin member that is over our site? Thanks in advance.

He would need to sell it to you then transfer it over to you he would also need to inform his host of the changes so you could make the monthly payments to them

That depends from host to host.

That's something you should ask the current site owner or the host of the site.

Ok thanks for the replies. Could someone route me to a thread or site that tells how to make skin layouts and put them on the site?

Not sure if there are threads about that subject.
You could try to create one using the style generator or by using the style manager in admin cp/styles and templates/style generator.

Another possibility is to download a style from here (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=164) or buy a style.

To install a style you need the upload the files that are included and import the xml in admin cp/styles and templates/download upload styles.

The original license holder may or may not be able to transfer his license to you.

You are always free to buy your own license:

vBulletin 4 Suite License ($285 USD; Life-time
license):
The suite includes vBulletin Forums, Content Management System and Blogs. Upgrades and support are provided for the life of the version. Suite customers get access to forum and ticket support for the life of the version as well.

vBulletin 4 Forum License ($195 USD; Life-time license):
The forum license includes vBulletin Forums. Purchasers of this license receive upgrades for the life of the version. You will also receive 30 days of ticket support and forum support for the life of the version.

You can order the software here:
http://www.vbulletin.com/order/

But you obviously need the current owner's permission to take their domain name and current forum data.

Yes it is possible you can take over a forum if they are willing to sell it or give it to you.

Hi guys, I bought a license from a person a few weeks ago. What we did was a illegible transfer! He had to contact vBulletin and make a ticket and inform them with all of my info, name, adresse, and what they needed!

Then 2 days later I was contacted by vBulletin! Now remember, as BirdOPrey said that he may ot may not be able to transfer. So now in my situation, Ones its transfered then will never be able to sell or transfer it again! Only ones and it can only be done by the original license owner..

So I would suggest you make sure to find out if its illegible for transfer first! The monthly payment for the host is nothing o worry about. I would say that the license is more important, and I have heard that old vBulletin License are not illegible for transfer.. So makre sure to get the all infor from this thread befor buying it mate..

Good luck
