Email Invitation to Join Forum

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to ask how do you start inviting others to join your forum? Should the write-up for an e-mail invitation be long or short and snappy? Please give me insights because we are about to open our vBulletin 4.2 forum. Thanks a lot.

Just starting a forum won't get you members or traffic, if you did email people firstly you'd need a mailing list and secondly bulk emailing will probably be interpreted as spam and get you blacklisted.

Unfortunately getting a forum off the ground is long hard work, make sure you get your url's submitted to search engines, answer questions or write in similar forums answering with good content and have a link to your forum in your signature, write in blogs...etc

It really is hard work until you get going :)

Thanks a lot, Simon. I do realize that it's a long way to run but that's how it supposed to be for anything to be succesful. :) Anyway, we do have a mailing list ready and will just figure out how to make it appear not as spam. Any suggestions?

don't use your bulk email header and don't have too many links in it :)
